Glen Davis Posted March 13, 2021 Report Posted March 13, 2021 When I engage my KFC 150 autopilot in the heading mode, it hunts right and left approximately 10° for about one minute before it locks in on the desired heading. Once it’s locked in it never does it again. I am engaging the autopilot with the heading bug dead center so it should not hunt at all. Any thoughts? Quote
carusoam Posted March 13, 2021 Report Posted March 13, 2021 Glen, What do you have as a heading bug? Sounds like something might be fuzzy coming into the AP... How well does it handle following a course? Mention your HSI... That may help get some AP support... Any interest in getting a new G5 or other digital display? Best regards, -a- Quote
Glen Davis Posted March 14, 2021 Author Report Posted March 14, 2021 Good questions. * My heading bug is built into the HSI, a KI-525a. * After the initial minute or two of rock n roll, it follows the heading bug perfectly for hours. * I do not have an interest in replacing the HSI at this point unless it’s broken. Thank you. Quote

Bob Weber Posted March 15, 2021 Report Posted March 15, 2021 Thanks so much for the kind recommendation. Multiple thoughts and questions come to mind here, a quick ground check may reveal the deficiency. I'm sure we should be able to make quick work of this, if interested you can reach me at 616 822 1999. I can be available after 4pm eastern today, if that works, for a preliminary call to get more info and set up a ground check appointment. Let me know if I can help. Quote
