N9201A Posted May 14, 2020 Report Posted May 14, 2020 I feel the same way about smoking. But my point of raising smoking was initially about the aerodynamics of pollutants in an airplane cabin being a familiar feature to anyone who remembers when airplanes were split into smoking and nonsmoking sections and how ineffective that was. As a reminder that there is no separating oneself from an other pollutants that may be wafting in a cabin today. But then I started to speak the "why can't I" thing I just said you quoted as a rhetorical mechanism counter to someone who said that anyone who didn't like the situation should get off the airplane and not take pictures. So I was being a bit snippy, a bit. Im sorry it got turned around. E No need to apologize, no offense taken - by me anyway. 1 Quote
N9201A Posted May 14, 2020 Report Posted May 14, 2020 sure. In fact you could have a smokers airline. People could choose to fly on it or not. -Robert Someone tried it: Smokers Express...IIRC it did not even generate enough interest to operate their first revenue flight! And that was nearly 30 years ago, we’ve got fewer smokers today. Since vaping will remain illegal because of the possibility the gizmos start a fire, doubt there would be as much interest today as when they first tried this. That’s one of the problems when your product kills off your customer base. Quote
N9201A Posted May 14, 2020 Report Posted May 14, 2020 How about naked people. What if naked people want to express their need to be free. Heck lets let them have sex since flying is boring and need to do something to pass the time. And lets just tell everyone else, people could choose not to fly or not. I want to fly with a big ol' boom box and rock my favorite tunes. People can choose not to fly if they don't like my music. They did try Hooter Air too...not quite nekkid but I’m sure there must be something in the FARs prohibiting that, will get right on that research... 1 Quote
N9201A Posted May 14, 2020 Report Posted May 14, 2020 Exactly. In fact that probably does exist. Probably some nudist do have their own flights. If you sign up for the naked flight you have no room to complain. If the airline finds that the naked flights aren’t making money they’ll choose to do non naked flights. We don’t need govt making our choices. -Robert Maybe I’m just too practical, but what would the “miracle on the Hudson” have looked like if every pax was in their birthday suit, standing out on that wing. Some things cannot be unseen...And does actually knowing (instead of imagining) the pax are naked make a new captain’s cabin announcements easier? Quote
N9201A Posted May 14, 2020 Report Posted May 14, 2020 I suppose in the age of covid, they will be wearing masks but nothing else. This would certainly make identifying the potential defendants more challenging. 1 Quote
