Actually the gear warning and gear down lights work at the same time. Both go on and off at the same time Anyone have an Idea. I cant find a wiring diagram for my Aircraft. The one I have is for a 1974. John The problem probably lies in your up limit switch. Each switch is a double pole, normally open and normally closed. It sounds like the normally open position is failed as that's the one that drives the light. The big ugly light is big and ugly for a reason... It is hiding a mechanical iris in there... Twisting it opens and closes the iris... Give it a try... Just make sure you don’t close the green one completely... If airplane manufacturers wrote POHs back in the day... they would have covered how all the controls work... PP thoughts as usual...
