gsengle Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 The bigger the airplane category the higher the minimums for circling for just this reason.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Schinderhannes Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 I was at the Airport and the weather was as bad as I had ever seen it in KPSP. A lot of roads in the Coachella Valley are still closed due to flooding and my pool is about to overflow. Alaska Airlines landed shortly after SAM29000 flew the missed, but it seems Alaska pioneered RNP approaches. http://www.boeing.com/commercial/aeromagazine/aero_12/navigation_alaska.html

Been into KPSP many times. But ... who is this Obama guy? Never heard of him? If you need to ask...Apparently he went to Law School and he has two autobiographies. https://youtu.be/hzMas1bVidw But yeah, that terrain will ruin your day if you lack competence. 1
cliffy Posted January 26, 2017 Author Report Posted January 26, 2017 The weather aside- he's hitch hiking home after the storm :-) Is there a big TFR around there? Looks like the big stuff gets 3 miles vis for the circle. Most of the airlines I worked for had VFR mins for circle to land 1000/3
cliffy Posted January 27, 2017 Author Report Posted January 27, 2017 I think I hear the jailer walking up jingling the lock out keys!
