Need help with GI106A connected to SL30... Not very accurate

Need some guidance on what is causing my GI106A cdi to not very accurate on an IlS or tuning to a VOR. It is connected to my #2 nav which is an Apollo SL30. It seems to bounce around a bit and is not stable and thus not very reliable. Your help is appreciated.

ZW,

that combo should be rock solid.  Find an install manual and calibrate the SL30 to the GI106.  The SL30 has some unique antenna splitter and combiner issues.  A traditional radio may have a combined VOR/ILS antenna with a splitter to provide signals to the VOR and ILS inputs on the radio.  Sometimes this splitter can have as many as 4 outputs, two ILS and two VOR.  However the SL30 has only one input and has an internal splitter.  You cannot use a standard VOR/ILS splitter, as this filters out one or other of the frequency ranges.

If you are getting less than stellar performance from your SL30, check your antennas, cables and splitters very carefully.

To follow up on this; all it was were some loose connections. A few hours of labor to diagnose and all is working well thanks to Central Texas Avionics in Georgetown, TX.
