fantom Posted May 5, 2015 Report Posted May 5, 2015 The last fly-in enjoyed reasonably nice weather. 8 Mooneys and several cars brought 23 people to New Smyrna Beach and everyone had a good time visiting and eating. Our next event will be this Saturday, May 9 at Winter Haven (GIF). Future events all are on the second Saturday of the month, starting at 11:30. Future Schedule: May 9, Winter Haven (GIF) June 13, Williston (X60) July 11, Sebring (SEF) August 8, ST. Augustine (SGJ) September 12, Lakeland (LAL) Please email Dave (daveanruth@aol.com) by Thursday night to let him know if you are going to try and make it. He then calls the restaurant on Friday with an approximate head count. Of course no one is obligated to come if something comes up. Come on out, bring the wife for Mother's Day, and make new friends.
BKlott Posted May 9, 2015 Report Posted May 9, 2015 My Dad and I flew our 172 over to Winter Haven today as he had a 12:30 pm appointment to fly the Stearman at Preston Aviation. It looked like the Mooneys had a great turnout both on the ramp and in the restaurant where the reserved table was full. I'll have to admit that every Mooney that flew in was sharp looking! Not a dog in the bunch. Dad actually got to shoot a bunch of touch and goes in the Stearman and had a great time! This was his Christmas present and it sure beats getting a tie!
