John,

You are simply high. There is nothing that can be done for you and your ilk. I've seen this before with Clinton. It does not matter what a person does, if they have a (D) behind their name, they are wrong. Clinton could have paid off the entire debt and you would have found something wrong. ACA did not change the deductibles for anyone. They are 2000/4000 under comparable plans and do not apply to basic primary care. They apply to hospital stays, just like they did pre ACA. The people buying the bronze and silver plans are the same people who in the past had high deductible, catastrophic plans. Not a damn thing changed other than your perceived assault on sacrament of marriage. Be a true capitalist. Get divorced.

Do you even know how a deductible and copay works? Majority of these places you are talking about have jack shit to do with ACA and majority of them take insurance. They exist because they are convenient, nothing to do with ACA. They have been around forever. I've used them long before Obama was even on the radar. I've crashed many a bicycle on the weekends.

So, you didn't find it in the law? Too busy this afternoon? Strikes me as a win-win.......It must be a design of the ACA, right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all American's were told in 2010 that they would have to pay a "penalty" if they didn't obtain coverage. The GOP was very vocal about this so I'm not sure how anybody, except those under the age of five, would not know about this.

I guess those that don't pay up are the ones that will be thrown in jail, according to one news outlet.

Ignorance is bliss.

I explained Maryland law and how it relates to the ACA, not once, but twice. My 401k??? The United States Treasury. So, in effect, a tax cut? Right?

Your 401(k) is in treasury bonds? I'm sorry...

No, QE has propped up Wall Street buying and selling from the Treasury. So....a big fat rebate....right? Oh, the party is ending? I've done great.

Exactly, for the life of me I do not understand anyone in the top 20% bitching about Obama. He has done amazing things for us. Didn't you say your cadillac plan is even cheaper than before? How is that SP500 return. Wow John, and this hole time I thought you only cared about yourself, but here you go, standing up for the little men. Bad Obama. The president of the 1%.

If you had an employee you could have a group. Hire somebody, spread the wealth.

I agree with your assessment but I think conservatives believe the entire market is a house of cards and is about to topple.

Because many of the dumbasses on the other side had the media in their pockets and these people ringing the bell were dismissed as right wing conspiracists or extremists. Maybe? Who really cares....as long as the pitchforks don't come to my doorstep it just don't matteh! Tax the shit out of them, maybe they'll learn to pay attention then.

You missed the entire point.... Walgreens, CVS and about a hundred others ARE. I need you right here, Andy.

So I remember ... after the secret meetings, the back door deals, the bribes for votes, the late night vote using "reconciliation"

I just read an interesting article on the subject. You are making it sound like this was congress' first foray into "back room deals". This feature talks about this subject as it relates to ACA, as well as other major legislative bills.

I found these lines particularly interesting:

"In a republic like ours, representatives will inevitably negotiate in private. And in the course of those negotiations, the representatives will inevitably cut deals that, either at the time or in retrospect, will look pretty unsavory. Franklin Roosevelt made common cause with racist Southern Democrats in order to pass Social Security. Lyndon Johnson accommodated the hospital industry in order to enact Medicare."

"The question is whether the Democrats’ deals were particularly egregious--and whether their legislative tactics were fundamentally undemocratic or even illegal. As far as I can tell, they weren’t. And the best proof comes by comparing another recent episode of legislating--one in which the majority party in power routinely resorted to underhanded tactics in order to pass a bill. If you follow health care policy, then you know what episode I’m talking about: It’s the enactment of the Medicare drug benefit in late 2003. Everything that the Republicans accuse Democrats of doing now, the Republicans actually did then. And they did it brazen, shameless fashion."

What is a proven fact? !!! Feel free to post your "proof" any day now ...

Your argument about our laws not being uniformly applied to Tyrone as to TIMMY is total bs. Have you been drinking and posting?

Friends don't let friends drink and post.

I am just not going to read your posts any more. The way you rationalize Big Bad Government is monumental.

Suit yourself, you're going to miss a lot of good stuff!

So I also remember Barack Obama debating McCain. He was going to make government TRANSPARENT. All legislation would have a taxpayer cost printed right on them. All legislation would be posted on-line for the public to read for seven (7) days before it was brought to a vote. Taxpayers would know what is in bills and what they cost.

So your response is certainly telling. Your argument is that the Republicans were just as corrupt when they did things. You don't deny then, that the Democrats now are just as corrupt as the Republicans were?

My response is then, not to give them more money and more power.

If we both KNOW and agree they are corrupt. Why can't we agree to fire them all and limit their power to practice corrupt, dishonest government with our money.?

Because someone is dreaming of "Ameritopia."

- 30 hour work weeks

- six weeks a year paid vacation

- a little extra pay to enjoy that vacation

- healthcare

Blah,blah, blah

Or perhaps someone fixated on the government providing some service so that no one will ever suffer or fail to have their needs met?

Let me let you in on a little secret (ssshhhhh .... ) government (especially a corrupt one) cannot save us from everything bad, and give us everything good. It's called "life." We live it ... The good ... The bad ... That's it.

I think we can agree on one thing. All the sons of bitches have their own agenda and only look out for themselves (and the money that will keep them there). I would love for a giant sinkhole to open up under the Capitol and eat them all up whole while in session, that way we could start anew. But it's not going to happen, and your saying that we should just fire them all would be great. But fact of the matter is, we want the guy in the next state to fire their guys, otherwise incumbents wouldn't get reelected decade after decade.

Term limits are the answer but since terms are written into the Constitution, it simply isn't going to happen. And why would it? How do you think I would vote if asked whether I should preserve my own job?

Posted

So gotta ask ... You remember Barack saying all that transparency, bills posted on-line, with actual taxpayer cost shown? Did you here it? Believe it? Want to believe it? Wish you could believe it? Know that man was full of it? Just curious?

I remember vividly him saying those words. Am I disappointed that it never materialize? No, because it was a huge order to fill in the first place and I had no expectations that anything would come of it, just like I don't expect anything to come of proposal's mentioned in state of union speeches, regardless of who gives them.

There are two traits that I picked up as I got older: skepticism and cynicism. With those two at my side, I'll no longer be disappointed at anything our politicians can throw at us. I would suggest you search your inner self for those qualities too - but please, don't employ them when you are at 37k feet with a few dozen passengers in the back!

Hey,

When you spend as much time as he does communing with Leon Trotsky using a quija board to come up with policy for PRUSA, it's sometimes hard to focus. It doesn't matter anyway, as starting this year, due to common core, all children will be taught that PRUSA was founded by Che Guevara. George who? I am looking forward to receiving my coupon entitling me to purchase GM's newest model, the Trabant, proudly assembled by workers no longer exploited by capitalist pigs. Also heard that all churches will be converted to FEMA "reeducation" camps, for those of a certain age with hazy, inaccurate memories of grocery store shelves full of produce.

Speaking of history fails - are we talking about the 'old' White House that the British/Canadians burned down during the War of 1812 while Madison was President, or the one Monroe first moved into in 1817?

And did either of them brew beer?

I'm writing in Walker.

He drives liberal thinkers MAD.

"You know, he didn't even graduate from college"...

That might be a plus based on the current Ivy League Legend occupant.

I don't know if you know that, but there is an actual statistical correlation between company's performance and it's CEO's Ivy League education status. A Harvard MBA more or less guarantees lower profits and ROE. I was Jack's complete lack of surprise when I read that study.

This appears to be an issue where nut case left and right wingers find themselves in total agreement.

If they had their way, they would take public health policy back to the dark ages. To me it's inconceivable that parents would opt to forgo the Polio and Smallpox vaccines if this were the late 50's. Why this subject is even being debated now is unfathomable to me, but I'm sure my regressive friends will differ.

Being that apples don't fall far from the tree, the loss of a few Timmys prematurely of preventable disease is not going to make me lose too much sleeper. The overall IQ of the population would improve.

Ideology, like the world, is round - go far enough to the right or left and eventually you'll meet up with those traveling in the opposite direction.
