CoachTom Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 1980 M20K Anyone have a stock number on the Gascolator gaskets? I also needed to get some exhaust flange gaskets but do not have a illustrated parts catalog for the engine. Continental TSIO-360-LB1 Any help is always greatly appreciated. V/R TMcD 1980 M20K Quote
Mooneymite Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 This is what pops up when you do a search on Aircraft Spruce for exhaust gaskets, Continental: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/rapcoexhaustgas.php?clickkey=76731 Gasket, gascolator turns this up: http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/gascolatergasket05-11187-91.php?clickkey=31380 Or, you can order from the manufacturer.... CoachTom Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 Thanks... Did that first and both didn't look like the ones i have changed in the past, so, i thought they were too generic and wouldn't work. I am trying not to take the belly off to get a picture and model number of the gascolator... And that exhaust gasket should be the same for all the TSIO-360, but the RAPCO just didn't look right due to the compression ring. I will keep digging... Thanks! TMcD Quote
N601RX Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Cheap exhaust gaskets are $1each. The best ones are around $10. It depends on how much you enjoy changing them. Quote
Mooneymite Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 I use the so-called blow proof gaskets on my Lycoming. I see they make them for Continentals too. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/bloproofehaustgaskets.php?clickkey=6532 Well worth the extra money in my opinion. Quote
kortopates Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 The exhaust gasket is a TCM 630365 or Superior SA630365. Spruce now stocks the complete line of Superior parts and will have them - you'll need two per cylinder. The blow proof ones look intriguing but I don't know if they are interchangeable. Your Gascolator gaskets will depend on which one you have as Mooney used a few. Mine uses an Airight. Suggest you call LASAR or SWATA being closer to you and they will be able to send you a set or tell you what to get. FYI, My AiRight uses 2 0-rings, the larger one is a fluorocarbon M83248/1-137 and the smaller one is a MS29512-5. To my knowledge, they're not available from Spruce but from many other outlets - just google the part #'s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
