MX-20 Replacment

My MX-20 is on its way out. I dont think its worth trying to find a replacement for it, lots of $$ for not much capability.

So im debating on pulling the mx-20 and and replacing it with a Aera 560 or Aera 795 in a panel dock and a GDL39 to go with it. Also they would be crossfilled with a g430w.

With the 560 i could mount it in the same space the mx-20 resides in the the center stack, but im not sure if the screen is big enough to get much use out of the weather and traffic. Do any of you have one mounted in that position that can comment on how useful the screen is in flight?

If i went with the 795 i would have to move the transponder and nav/com 2 into the center stack and mount the 795 with an angle mount. Is the extra cost worth the bigger screen on the 795? Any added capability the 795 has over the 560? Or should I just pull the mx-20,slap a cover plate over the hole and just fly with my tablet and have to enter my flight plan twice?

I am considering mounting my 696 in the panel...what is an angle mount ?  Where are they available ?

I have a 696 in my panel over on the right side. I pull my seat almost all the way forward and the 696 is hard to see from where I sit. I just bought the angle mount but I have to have it installed by an avionics shop because of the way the AirGizmo panel doc was installed. So it isn't in yet. I'll post pics after it's installed.

Th 696 is a GREAT unit in the panel and you can connect it to the the GDL-39 ADS-B receiver for weather and traffic. Same thing with the 796 but that can be connected via Bluetooth.

Are those alternatives legal for IFR flight? As I wrote that, I started wondering if it matters because technically any MFD is considered for "situational awareness only" as the HSA or DG is considered primary. But is there any concern about these systems being used for such purposes? I'm curious....

I have 696 angle mount that I could not use. I will sell for half of retail as I modified it with dremel (can't see when mounted as I had to do so to mount. Reason I did not use was my engine gauges are not visable (I have EI six pack to right of 696). Wish it would have worked as the presentation of the 696 was great for pilot with the angle adapter. PM me if interested. I will of course refund if you can't use/don't like it....
