  1. Hi, looking to buy an MSE/Allegro, Encore (at least 1000 lb useful), Eagle/Screaming Eagle or Ovation to replace my micro-burst damaged Mooney (hangar door fell on it). I've owned the Mooney since 2001. I prefer the newer round window style, 28v. IO-390 replaced - awesome. Prefer low to mid-time, tanks recently resealed, prefer no Moritz gauges or replaced with JPI / etc. no corrosion. I know Mooney s and their maintenance pretty well ( I do most of it). Cash buyer. I am located in Mesa, AZ. Want to put into service by Dec 31st. Thanks, Eric S 480 862 4658
  2. Ok, here's the deal. My manifold pressure transducer is sick and Mooney does not have one. To add insult to injury they can't get one for 6 months. For a used transducer that works I will pay $1000.00. I know that sounds crazy but the new part will cost $1800. I have the Moritz instrumentation and the Ovations/Eagles between 1999 and 2003/4 used this transducer. If any of you know where there is an Ovation or an Eagle that is being parted out I would appreciate the direction. FYI, the Part No. is SP100-110-25a. It was made by Patriot Systems which has since been acquired by Ametek. Ametek will not work on the part and was totally unhelpful -- they clearly said that they are not interested in supporting Patriot parts and they do not have parts for the unit. I have called Wentworth and LASAR and they didn't have one. So, who wants to make my day?

  4. I have a problem for the great minds on this forum to help me solve! I have a 99 Eagle and when I turned on the master switch this morning my stall horn was blaring. When I do my preflight I always check the stall vane for freedom of movement and I thought it might have stuck. I went and grab some contact cleaner out of the hangar, sprayed what I could generously and did the typical jiggle, tap, tap, etc. When I turned on the master switch again, no change, still blaring. I then pulled the Stall horn circuit breaker and no change. That made me scratch my head a little? So then I pulled the gear horn circuit breaker which is usually a beep, beep, beep not the steady horn that I was hearing and it went off. At this point both circuit breakers are out and no horn but if I pushed in either of the circuit breaker in individually the horn sounded and was constant, no beep, beep, beep. Both breakers needed to be pulled to keep the horn off. I have a MSC on the field and they have seen the problem a few times in the past but are too swamped at the moment to look up who’s planes they fixed the problem on and what the solution was. The avionics crew is going to look over the electrical schematics and do some preliminary diagnosis soon. The mechanics says is a Mooney thing. Tonight I plan on spraying all the contact switches related to the gear and the stall vane to see if it that is the problem. I’m hopping someone here would know what’s going on so I can fly my plane this Friday. Thanks! Karson
