  1. Thanks! I checked the eBay help pages and learned that most categories remove the Buy It Now after the first bid. In some categories like eBay Motors (this auction), cell phones, and clothes, the option is removed after the bidding gets above 50% of the Buy It Now price. Seems totally random that those categories have a different process. F
  2. Done. Also, ads are no problem if it keeps this awesome site thriving. MS is a crucial part of Mooney ownership for me. I have learned and benefited far more than I'll ever be able to contribute in return.
  3. Used Garmin 796 in excellent condition. Includes standard cradle and bare wire cradle for hardwiring to aircraft power and/or avionics. Up for auction on eBay, ending Sat 12/5 at 1700 PST. eBay: Garmin aera 796 Thanks, Fetus
  4. Gently used Garmin GDL39 in great condition for sale. Also includes the power/data bare wire kit add-on for hardwiring to aircraft power and/or an aera unit. Free USPS Priority shipping. eBay: Garmin GDL 39 Happy Thanksgiving everyone, Fetus
  5. The couple of times I've had my KAP-150 fail in flight (divergent pitch oscillation/porpoising while trying to maintain altitude) was due to either the cooling hose had fallen off the backside inlet or my avionics cooling fan had bitten the dust. The KAP-150 front edges were uber hot to the touch and would not pass a self-test airborne. Of course, it magically fixed itself after troubleshooting later in the hangar and it had cooled off. Fixing the cooling issue solved those issues. But I don't recall the electric trim being inop when my AP went wonky, so maybe an unrelated failure mode from mine.
  6. I recently got a GDL-39 on my trip to Oshkosh. Since my Garmin portable is limited by the number of serial inputs, I am selling this unit. It works great, but doesn't fit into my avionics setup now.
  7. Always happy to get someone involved in Mooneys... I'm based at KIYK (Inyokern, CA). Pretty much in the middle of the Mojave desert (i.e. middle of nowhere). At least the Mooney helps make it the "middle of everything". I fly a 1987 M20J 205 and she's always ready for a food run with someone who loves aviation!
  8. Zaon XRX for sale with bare wire cable for hard-wired installations. Also includes cigarette power adapter for standalone use. Worked well in my M20J. eBay auction link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321202219787?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649
  9. Quite a large fire in Yosemite. Satellite imagery has a huge wedge-shaped smoke pattern starting from Pine Mountain Lake covering the area to the north. Bummer about the airshow being cancelled. Hope to see everyone at another fly-in some other time! Alternate pancake options away from the fires might be in order.
  10. Did someone say pancakes?! I'm planning on getting there Sat morning before the field closes for the airshow. Sounds like a lot of fun!
