  1. OK thanks for all the replies. pulled the Turn and Slip out. It is a 20-2001 two inch 28 volt. very odd since my plane is 12 volt. But sure enough it is fried and will cost 850 to overhaul. any suggestions?
  2. Just started my IFR training and the Turn Coordinator died. there is no placard on it so I don't know what to ask for. Can anyone help?
  3. Bob, Thanks for your help!
  4. Bob, I tried several times and each time it canceled the upload for some reason.
  5. tried several times to upload photos but each time it says upload skipped.
  6. sorry guys new to selling planes and posting. the Annual was completed in 2012 December not 2013, and I am going to add photos now. I have put 75K into it and would like 60K now.

  8. I hit send too quick. this is a 1965 M20E Super 21
  9. This 1965 M20E has been flown all over the US and is a very efficient quick plane. I have had it for almost two years and put about 75K into the plane, the new engine, new tires, Brittain Autopilot, brakes, and a Garmin 430W Kit. (430W not included) ALL ADs are met and all log books are current on both the prop and the plane. Total time 3870 and only 170 on completely overhauled engine by Mena Aircraft. The latest annual was completed in December of 2012 with 0 squawks. This plane is very well maintained because I really love my children. Whoever buys this plane will be spending very little on maintenance for a long time. The kids are getting bigger so I am selling to get an A-36. I am happy to send pictures or videos if you are interested. $60K
  10. If you decide to part it out, I am a new Mooney owner and need a few things. Yoke clock will get me IFR certified.
  11. be sure to have a cylinder pulled and check the inside!! not doing this cost me 30K after my pre-purchase didn't find a bad cam lobe.
  12. thank you all for the great info and experience sharing moments. I flew today but ended with just the one flight. Tomorrow I will be tying the hot start. I am going with the 1100 - 1300 don't touch anything method first and will report the findings.
  13. I have a 1965 M20E with a newly Overhauled engine. So far hot starts require a pickup truck and jumper cables. Any good advice from my fellow comrades-in-wings. Bill

  15. I tried the number for questair that is listed but get a message that this number doesn't take messages. @Cruiser, thanks for the very good laugh!
  16. OK, I finally got to fly my Mooney M20E that i purchased 4 months ago from a kind gentle crook that lied about everything, including a prop strike. After 30K more for the overhaul and other issues, I am happy with the plane. I was sitting in it today and noticed the Questair O.A.T in the windshield. I turned in on and nothing happened. I unscrewed it and decided it needed a new battery. Screwing it back in, it snapped and broke. Just GREAT. Can't find anywhere online to buy a new one. Any suggestions??
  17. I agree with the Idiot, get everything that you want fixed. Its your money and the Mooney will take every bit of your Money if you are not careful. I purchased one in August this year with only 750 hours SMOH. Thinking I would get at least 1000 hours before any major expenses. Turns out that the seller hid a prop strike and all the avionics were taped together under the dash. Now 4 months later and another 30K gone, I got to fly the plane for the first time yesterday. While in Flight, the voltage regulator died and drained the battery, then I lost all avionics. Why am I spending so much money? Because I didn't verify everything and I was eager to purchase the plane. I am now an educated Idiot. Take your time and get all you want fixed before you take possession. Its your money.
  18. just bought a plane with 2 bad cylinders and one at low 70's. the fourth was high for one reason, the cam lob was wore down so much it couldn't open the valves. high compressions do not mean all is well under the hood. Oil test showed no metals from the cam either! My sweet buy turned bitter quick. The engine is now at Mena Aircraft. The reason for the bad condidtion??? only 100 hours in 10 years. don't let your planes sit! at least start them every week.
  19. I know in the Cessna 172 you are able to have the luggage area modified for a child seat. Is this possible for the Mooney M20E as well?
  20. I am heading to Joplin to help with the efforts there tomorrow, but if you are around on Wednesday i would love to stop by.
  21. The Sky Captain - We are looking for a M201. We are doing a pre purchase now on one. Not sure how it will turn out.
  22. Looking for a partner in northwest Arkansas for a Mooney M20J 201 Bill
  23. I and a partner are looking to buy one. I'm getting a little frustrated with the brokers quickly buying available Mooney's and marking them up before us privates get a chance at them.
