  1. Dave at air mods N87 is reviewing all paperwork and will get back to me...keep ya posted..
  2. We are looking into the gain of 130lbs....It does say it was weighed with 15 gal unusable fuel which is 90 lbs and unusable should only be 6gal(3 per side).. regardless, our A&P believes it could have been weighed incorrectly before. He says it does not matter what is on the equipment list because its what the scale says...Maybe next year at the annual we will weigh it again and be present.. The load at this point has worked well for us. we have been at Gross many times and she performs quite well.
  3. Good questions...I will bring it up at our next oil change when we are there...I was quite shocked when I saw it last year, but figured that was that and what can you do..Not sure where all the extra weight is coming from...speed brakes, avionics...etc..?
  4. Yep that is correct, We have not added anything, so all the avionics were already there. a couple of items can be removed but they will not make much of a difference. a few pounds here or there.
  5. The weight was 1820 and it was done in 2005 for previous owner and then done for us 3/11 prior to purchase.
  6. Dan, Thank you for the info. I called the shop this morning and still have not heard back, regardless of that. I am going to just go with the original CG envelope, My max weight at 2740 has not changed, and just continue to use the new empty weight of 1950 for all calculations. I appreciate all the responses and help. I will post any updated info once I speak to the shop. Mark
  7. I tried to post the forms but it comes up error. The Max weight of course is the same. But on the same line next , it says CG range FWD 45.0 AFT 50.1. is that an adjustment to the envelope? If someone can PM me their email I can send it like that, take a look and see what you think. thx
  8. Last year when we bough the M20J it was re-weighed and on the new W&B sheet shows a FWD CG of 45.0 & and an AFT CG of 50.0. The original CG limit envelope graph had FWD 41 & aft 50.10. So my question which may seem obvious is, can the envelope really be shortened that much? they did not provide a new envelope graph but I am not sure if I just "shorten" the old one all the other parameters will be the same. Basically this is for a W&B app that forms the envelope graph with the parameters you put in. Thx
  9. I have an appointment with Griifen avionics on 9/14...we shall see what happens.
  10. Quote: carqwik Fly your plane to Tulsa...I pursued a problem with the VS/Alt Hold in my KFC 150 and horsed around with various "fixes" for about 18 months as well....never fixed. Finally got so ticked off I called A/P Central for an appointment (a 3 month wait). They found the problem in an hour, and fixed it by the end of the day. (Turned out it was a cold solder joint in the computer somewhere....). Let me review though the fixes attempted prior to visiting Tulsa....Attitude Indicator OH'd, altimeter innards cleaned and checked, flight computer sent to Honeywell for bench test (tested ok...just goes to show what a waste that was given that there was a problem in the computer which they didn't find!), bridle cable tightened, pitch trim servo checked, etc. Lesson learned...don't waste time trying to figure it out hit or miss...just take the plane to Tulsa. I may just have to resort to that...My A&P actually sent our pitch servo to them for overhaul first, that was a $1200 deal....We also had the jackscrew cleaned and checked, so it wasnt that...Just annoyed it hasnt been fixed.
  11. Well I figured after leaving it to 4 professionals I would have received an answer or fix. We may just have to set that up for this coming fall, and take it to AP central. We actually swiped out the entire computer in flight and the replacement did the same thing.
  12. So the saga continues with the faulty auto trim on our KFC 150...It has been a year and half...alot of $$ and no fix...Engine back in, annual complete, Bird painted and still cant get the auto trim to work...We have swapped out the computer, the pitch servo, trim servo, checked wiring, refurbed the pitch servo and still the same... I have spoken with AP Central tech's, Bendix King tech...The AP flies a great coupled approach as long as you help it along with manual trim.. I am just looking for some out of the box thinking and suggestions? or any one else ever have this?
  13. As the previous post suggests, ADS-B out from GA aircraft is quite a while away.....nothing will match a 330 or similar for anytime soon, the manufacturers know this and that is why they are all concentrating on the easier and much more available ADS-B wx. I have used the stratus for GPS and wx quite a few times and very happy with it. I have access to most of technology either before or right when it comes out and do not see any ADS-B traffic that is worth it, other than watching the airliners that do have it buzz high above us...
  14. Our 3rd partner is leaving the end of July as we knew in advance, However his replacement has changed his mind, so we are looking for a 3rd in our Newly painted and very well equipped 83' M20J. We are in a new Hanger at 3N6 in central NJ, the plane just came out of annual and the engine case was replaced, new reiff heater, air/oil sep. etc... My other partner is a CFII, If you know of anyone please put the word out. serious inquiries please. Thank you Best Regards, Mark Brager mark.brager@gmail.com
  15. They have the decals posted on the mooney site.. That's the last thing I was worried about..filling the man cave with mooney stuff was more important ..
  16. This is the link to the Ebay store I bought the original Banner from. ( a little pricey but nice). http://stores.ebay.com/courtfx Vista Print was cool because you can Design your own. That was only $30
