  1. Ok, the pics are up there from our first day bringing her home then our "speed" trials....under pilot716
  2. Hello again my fellow Mooniacs!, Many of you have been in contact with me through email & PM asking about the Zaon XRX or MRX PCAS and the GNS 5870 BT for the IPAD. My web site is now up in Beta, still working out some tweeks but overall it is running, If you are still interested in the Zaon I am now an authorized dealer and have the best prices I believe around, and the GNS 5870 BT GPS is going strong as a Favorite for ForeFlight and the other EFB APPS. If interested please go to www.oasispilotsupply.com and enter "mooney11" at checkout for your discount. I also have them available on Amazon if you prefer to buy there. If there is any questions feel free to email me at info@oasispilotsupply.com. Thank you to all of you who have already made a purchase.
  3. 275 and all in cessna's, Just put my first 6 hours in....a lot of x-wind landings so far...and some cool approaches with the KAP 150!
  4. Finally took the keys for our 83' m20J and flew off for some touch and goes then getting familiar with the plane..Man!! what a aircraft, 160kts & handled like a real smooth machine, landing over the numbers at 70...many good days ahead, now I see what the craze is!
  5. I saw your a/c on the ramp sunday when I was doing some touch up on my newly purchased 83' M20J. cant say enough about Dave, Lisa and staff there! good luck with your Mooney ,looks great!
  6. tell your friend to delete all blue tooth devices on his IPAD. turn off blue tooth and then turn it back on. after BT is on then turn on GNS 5870 and allow to "pair" this should then bring up the window for the oin # which is always 0000. hope this helps. if not he can email me at- info@oasispilotsupply.com Mark
  7. ah, got it, well then there not invited.......except my friend mike from Boca! he was a ton of help. Hope to see some of you at sun n fun!
  8. why would they not? not a shiny new paint job? lol
  9. So I am finally closing on our new bird friday N2201!, She is in great shape but needs some TLC on the wings from paint chipping. we will do a full paint job next winter, but in the meantime I will probably lightly sand the edges prime and spray paint for now as recommended by the MSC. any suggestions? best paint, primer etc..Cant wait to fly her home to KMMU.
  10. there are pro's and cons to each unit as all the reviews have stated. the bad elf can come out or break off and draws power from pin plug in, the GNS has a separate battery power lasting over 10 hours, but blue tooth uses power so its everyones own personal choice. I of course use and endorse the GNS 5870 and my business sells them. I have them on Amazon $97.99 plus shipping as Oasis Pilot Supply, on Ebay same price as PILOT716,(read all my feedback amazon & ebay) and for my Mooniac friends here I will discount if you pay direct to Oasispilotsupply@yahoo.com through paypal. $100, $95 +5 shipping ($2 discount). anyone can PM me or email me at anytime for more info., Mark
  11. not at all, my IPAD is on a yoke mount and I have never seen a difference, when it is off then turned on or when having the external GPS 5870 mounted and on. All works fine.
  12. The GNS 5870 has been working just fine with the IPAD2 as with the IPAD , no difference. a lot of pilots using foreflight or other software were concerned over the change. And now with the geo ref. plates(those who like those things) its a great enhancement to the IPAD as an EFB. The GNS 5870 is on Amazon for $97.99 ($129.99 at sporty's) with quick shipping, see the reviews. It was given thumbs up in the November foreflight news letter and February aviation consumer. FYI
  13. Thanks guys, Yes i know the chatham NDB very well, not only is it part of the ILS (not needed if GPS updated) but it is part of the newark 7 departure out of KLDJ. I never used the ADF for it(gps of course) but funny how those are still kicken! anyhow...financing is approved! pre-buy should commence today or tomorrow( im going to FL on vacation so I want to see it taken apart before I leave for the week) and if all is good it will roll into an annual. hopefully take delivery first week of March.
  14. ADF works but is there for show as it will be taken out at some point and some new gadget will replace it! Thx
  15. some panel pics.
  16. I flew the plane last week and made sure all avionics were working, traffic, A/P, etc..even did a waas approach on the KAP 150..
  17. Thanks, guys, all duly noted and will be used!
  18. So the deposit is down and the pre-buy inspection will be in a day or so on an 83' M20J 201..It has a very well suited panel with all the bells and whistles we wanted, great mods and extra's. with 300 SMOH should we ask for a Boroscope of the engine or is the compression check and oil analysis good enough with a low time engine? we also have an extensive list from MAPA for the pre-buy inspection. I am almost there!
  19. If anyone has an operating agreement they could send me so I can fine tune ours would be appreciated. It should be for an LLC plus a bank note/lien/loan info. ie; mainly if someone wants out, how does that work? or bring in someone new to replace? what about initial deposit/down payment? would they get a portion back or take from new person buy in? if any one could advise on this. I have already spoken with an AOPA atty. it just would be more cost effective to do it on our own and just have them review it. One of the Mooney pilots was gracious enough to send me one, and we were able to use most of the info, but it did not have a bank note on the aircraft & this is our most important item.
  20. any recommendations for a back up AI to be installed?
  21. Thats what i figured, thanks
  22. Well it looks like we have found our Mooney. a 1983 201, still working on details & prebuy but in the meantime, when you value your Hull for insurance are you going buy the purchase price or do you make it higher based on what you really think the value and replacement cost would be?
  23. Got it, thanks!
  24. Since I am new to this forum and in the process of buying a mooney, all of you have been great with helping out with my questions. I was curious to know if it was ok to post some items for sale? I did not really see much of that here and did not want to mess with the Mooney forum etiquette. So, I have access to many pilot & aircraft items that I could offer to the owners & pilots here. If you have something in particular you use often ie: cleaning supplies, pilot items(kneeboards, gats jars, headsets etc.. all that good stuff.. you could PM me or get my email address from my profile. again I didn't want to turn this into something else, but if I could get good prices on items you need, why not help out the Mooney drivers!
  25. So it looks like an 83' m20J with 73 gal tanks is in the cross hairs! it does need a paint job though so has any one used either Lancaster aero or KD at N87 robbinsville? or any other recommendations NJ,PA,MD?
