Thanks, The hero3 was mounted on top of the right wing...the wind wasn't too bad at all...a little gust just prior to touchdown to make things a bit interesting, but no real surprises, at 45min less than full fuel (with bladders) and 2 pax, i was a bit under max takeoff weight..sprung off the runway, like she longed to be back in the air !..ill have a second part of this vid,(return trip) with a different view...trying to get 2 cameras to co-operate at once...

Love that mount above...I use the suction cup mount just infront of the rear tie down on the tail of my 201...Going to find a slightly different mounting point on the rear, out of the light oil mist... Later, Marty

FBCK... McMurray aviation may have the worst customer service of any FBO I've flown into... LWJ and I have been across the country a couple times..unfortunately in Fort Mac, they have the monopoly. and with land and operating expenses so expensive we're stuck with them. Their pilots/instructors are great folks, just the rampies and front desk seems to be lacking. I called the day before i was to pick up my airplane last year (winter) asked if they could put it in the hangar for me (she was outside and cold for 2 weeks) They told me it wasn't a problem..my departure time was to be around 8AM weather dependant...when i arrived at the FBO, the woman behind the desk informed me that "they could not find my airplane" and "they tried to get a hold of me" ! Hilarious...it seems the way it works for them is as though they are doing me a "favour" by having them move my airplane around or "letting" me park there. Although i am a promt paying regular customer. I know have a titled spot at the north end of the airport, so no more ramp fees for them. I do have them warm my plane up overnight in the winter. BE WARNED THE OVERNIGHT HANGAR CHARGE IS NOW 240$...Talk about highway robbery. But, It's Fort Mac !...As for the Aspen...I'm COMPLETELY satisfied with how she turned out...Looking forward to getting the 1000MFD in the next 3-4 months..

you'll only get to see the "nice touchdowns" from the outside !...really need to find a nicer spot outside and underneath...it seems the blurriness of the camera lens cover is coming from the light mist of oil...I flew back to work today (calgary to fort mcmurray) and when i unmounted the camera from under the tail, she was covered quite nicely in a layer of aeroshell !

On the belly is a go pro hero3 with a suction cup attachment...in the luggage area on the plane is a Panasonic HDC-HS60, it was my first edit with iMovie on my new MacBook Pro!

The first stage of the avionics upgrade are excellent..(430w upgrade/aspen pro 1000/autopilot interface) remove old loran equipment..really looking forward to the next step of the upgrade. Jpi 930 and aspen1000mfd..but I'd really like to do some flying before she goes back in the shop.

Quite conscious of it..and thanks for the, uh constructive criticism.. I was grabbing the downtube so much 'cause my seat cushion wasn't sitting underneath me quite as it should've been..and the friction lock on the side of the throttle quadrant does a great job of keeping the throttle/prop/mixture to the wall for me until I'm ready to make an adjustment...

Hmm, note to self..check trim before take-off..good reason to follow the checklist !

So the first of a few panel upgrades is complete. WAAS Upgrade, Pro1000 PFD install, autopilot coupling, new L.E.D landing light, removal of an old LORAN system and last but certainly not least aerocomfort leather wrapped yokes.. Planning the next panel upgrade already, 1000MFD, JPI930, stec 55x?...some radio/xponder relocation, and a full panel replacement... Any of you have suggestion on who to check out for the actual mock up/ cutting of a new 201 panel ? Thanks, Marty

If there was one thing i could change on LWJ it would be to have no bladders and long range tanks....The next mooney purchase will definately have long range tanks or the ability to change to them..LWJ does not have the full 64 gallon bladders..She's had no problems (to date) with water getting trapped.. I've had her for just about a year now with just over 180 hrs..The paint is a bit mismatched, but, in no way detracts from the overall look..

Im (possibly) getting the installation done through my local mooney service centre here in calgary alberta..Cavalier Aviation. They've quoted me 50 hrs install ! in addition to another 5 for the Waas upgrade on my 430....
