  1. I can probably work something out for him. I live in Greenville, SC and own a '65 C model. Let me know if you still need someone.
  2. My dad and I are going to be there again. We're planning on camping, but we also have rooms lined up in a house just in case. Looking forward to seeing you all there again!
  3. Wow that looks great Scott! I'm jealous.
  4. I had mine on my entire checkride, I don't think that the examiner knew what it was, or if we did he didn't seem to care about it.
  5. My plane has an EI tach, it was installed by the previous owner so I can't comment on the install. As far as the functions go, I really like it, it's backlit and it has led's around the outside that function a bit like an analog tach, as well as the digital readout. I like it a lot more than a standard analog tach and it has a flight timer function that is really nice to have.
  6. Thursday or Friday works for me. Let me know what you guys decide.
  7. They're insecure. They know how awesome Mooneys are and they're trying to convert you early.
  8. Oh no not the Bonanza people! Now we have to get a Mooney lunch together.
  9. I love my (previous owner installed) speed brakes.
  10. Jolie, congratulations on everything. I'll see you and Mitch there!
  11. I've spent some time at 12,000 and I've had mine as high as 13,000 briefly. It isn't super fast up there but it can get there and stay there with no problem. every time I've taken mine up that high it's been in the southwest in the summer (mostly in Arizona)
  12. Ray in Santa Paula will travel. I believe he did Dave's pre-buy so you could ask him what he thought of him.
  13. The fuel pump on my '65 C model just crapped out on me. The mechanic has been quoted $1100 to replace it which seems to both of us to be a rather large number. Has anyone had any experience replacing the fuel pump on this engine (O-360-A1D)? Are there any after-market pumps that are available that would be a suitable replacement? Thanks for any insight.
  14. I'm insured through the aopa insurance company. I had about 120 hours total and no mooney or complex time when I got our Mooney. The insurance required that I get 10 hours of dual and then 10 hours solo before I carried passengers. Aopa was very easy to work with and their rates seem veyr reasonable I highly recommend them.
  15. Philip I purchased the 695 in February from Sporty's. It comes with the cover, yoke mount, remote antenna, all the manuals, and databases that were updated in april. It is in perfect cosmetic condition and works flawlessly. I purchased it new for $2400, I'll sell it with free shipping for $1800. Let me know if you have any more questions.
  16. I have a 695 available if that would work for you. Let me know if you're interested.
  17. I've had some work done at San Luis avionics in San Luis Obispo (SBP) and I thought they were very professional and their rates seemed reasonable. I'm not sure how much they would charge to fabricate and install a new panel although I know that they do specialize in doing just that.
  18. Thanks Jolie! My dad and I both had a lot of fun, despite the weather. Roger it was great meeting you, hopefully I'll see you at the next event!
  19. I'm also curious how the throttle handle works in the M20L. Does anyone have experience with them? Is it like the cirrus throttle?
  20. thanks for the new suggestions, i had thought about cleaning the contacts. what sort of cleaner should i use on them? i should also mention that my post last night was at 12 not at 3 i must have my timezone set wrong in my account. thatms not to say i wasn't up at 3 i just wasn't on Mooney space.
  21. Jose, I haven't ever checked with the engine off, I'll have to check next time I go out. I know the problem isn't limited to one radio since I can hear it on both radios. I was thinking the audio panel as well since it's the only thing connected to both radios. Mitch, thanks for the offer, I'll definitely have you take a look this weekend.
  22. I've been having a problem recently with static on my radio. It comes on when there is no other noise on the frequency, and it occurs on different frequencies, but it's always limited to the frequency it started on (I.E if I change frequencies on the radio it goes away but if I flip to the same frequency on my other radio it's still audible). At first I thought it was static being broadcast on the frequency but it has happened on enough different frequencies without anyone mentioning it that it must be within my own electrical system. I have a KMA24 with a ky197 and a kx155. Anyone ever had this problem? Any ideas what could be causing it? I hope I've managed to describe the problem adequately let me know if I can clarify anything
  23. Why wouldn't he? That is what the place is called right?
  24. I'm probably going to be there. It's a 15 minute flight for me, seems silly to miss it.
  25. Is there still a huge backlist for ordering from them?
