The rc allen unit is great, dead on attitude indication. Lightweight and easy to install. Could not be happier with the unit.

Be sure the connectors go in fairly tight, if it is removed from your plane or yoke mounted it just could be making a bad connection into the unit from movement or regular wear, if you can, examine the connectors as you plug/unplug them. A small pick/screwdriver can spread them carefully to make a solid connection into the unit, once you get them solid a small drop of clear silicone on the connector can help to insure movement is kept to a minimum and can be removed easily if need be. Be sure to check the cables/antenna for kinks or extreme bends, this can cause problems as well. Ive had a 196 and a 496 and these are the most common problems with your issue, I dont belive a software issue is the cause. I hope this helps, Tough flying without these units !!

I was wondering if anyone has the Century 41 autopilot in there bird, The mooney i will be getting has this system, and i will have the gps steering off of a 530 as well , Just wondering how it performs and if everyone likes the operation of this model, just looking for some feedback as ive never used a century 41 model autopilot. Great thanks for the info guys and Scott, your paint inspired me for a similar scheme just in blue when i first saw it on this site, Crider also did my cherokee , its actually used in a photo on there web site, They did an awesome job The mooney is in for paint and avionics now. Great site! Iam in the process of recieving a 1979 m20j , Moving up from my cherokee 140 ! I was wondering about the interior heating on this model, having come from the cherokee which had a great heater, what is the compareable diffrence? In vermont it gets pretty chilly and never flown in or had a chance to fly in a 201 i was curious how good it is. Really excited about the plane! Theres not many mooneys around vermont and when it arrives i will no doubt be ready to get out and learn what this bird has got, Thank you!
