  1. Can anyone provide some insight into how the red part of the pictured handle attaches? There is a bar inside of it and, when I recently had a full power loss, I had to do a manual extension. Almost comically, as I was extending my gear with no radios, lights, or transponder, the red outer-handle came off in my hand. I cannot figure out how to reattach it. Thanks in advance for any guidance.
  2. My A&P is pretty sure it is the motor, unfortunately. I will put this in his ear, though. Thanks!
  3. Same search ongoing. Any luck on this?
  4. I am having a similar issue. Did you find a solution? If so, could you share? Thanks!
  5. It does and I had it open above 6k MSL. Thanks!
  6. Ground refresher or a better CFI for my complex. I am learning about unknown unknowns right now.
  7. Awesome! Thank you! The learning is coming at an insane pace right now.
  8. I was at 10.5-11.5k and my TAS was somewhere in the 148-152 range…so, you are spot on. Basically, it sounds like you are saying that I shouldn’t worry that my MP won’t get up to 19” under normal operating circumstances. Is that fair?
  9. I do hear the motor (or, at least a buzz)…but, no light and no rotation. I will try cleaning the contacts.
  10. I just flew a 4.5 and I am wondering if I have an issue. Disclaimer - New plane to me and I am trying various RPM and MP settings to see what speeds and fuel consumption I get before I make a flight from Tucson to central FL. On the way out, I set 2500 RPM and 18” MP, 120-125 KIAS. On the way back, I set 2600 RPM and wanted 24” MP but, even at max throttle, MP would not go above 19” (actually topped out just below). Fuel efficiency was out of this world, but I was hoping to trade a bit of fuel efficiency for more speed on the return. The POH and checklists suggest that 2600 RPM/24” MP is achievable…any ideas as to what may cause the MP to stay so low?
  11. I have an order in now. I was told the lead time is 20 weeks. The boot that is on there now is suitable, but appears to be close to no longer being suitable. Annual in Feb will either clear it for a bit or ground me until I figure something out.
  12. Definitely going LED during my annual. All exterior lights are getting the treatment. Thanks!
  13. Here we go again. Looking for this boot for my M20E and it looks like LASAR is the best bet with a 35 week lead time. Just taking the chance that someone has something faster they have found since the last post on the topic. Thanks in advance!
  14. I have that exact row and assumed it was the anti-collision…not happening with that. The thing that is odd to me is, it was rotating and lit, but now it does neither. Is that type of beacon often wired in a way that the rotation stops if the bulb burns out?
  15. I did try the previous owner…but, he is not in the US at the moment.
