  1. Exactly. People just need to listen to the manufacturers. Lycoming engine operating manuals all post power charts pegged to peak EGT only. And Mike Busch is overrated. It's a hot take, but it's mine.
  2. This is a major alteration, even if it is just a newer stock Mooney part. It was never installed on the M20C from the factory.
  3. M20B has a takeoff position only of 20.5 to 22.5 degrees. All M20C through K are the same I believe: takeoff deflection is 15-16 degrees, landing is 31-33 degrees. (Although the shop manual for it seems to indicate that the M20D doesn't have a takeoff position. Never worked on one.) M20M and R is 10-11 degrees, and 31-33 degrees. M22 is 20 degrees and 34-36 degrees. These are all compared to the neutral aileron position. If the TCDS doesn't indicate a specific deflection level then Vfe applies to any flap extension. The Beech 1900 has different Vfe depending on whether its 14 degrees or 35 degrees, and it's certificated under 14 CFR 23.
  4. The Cherokee Six has such an odd mission profile. The only people I've ever known that kept theirs had families that flew with them.
  5. Glad you like the Jet Shades. I know the owner, and he makes a great product. I'm too cheap to afford it though
  6. Garmin has a SB for the -11 servos they used to use for the GFC500 and they're replacing them with the -21. The -11 has some kind of problem where it intermittently disconnects. I'm not telling you to go to your avionics guys and tell them "hey the internet said replace the -11 with the -21!!!", I just had it happen a few times this year already.
  7. >No pieces for the pitch servo bracket will fit a stock ‘76 M20C Ranger serial 1213 yep, I installed a GFC500 autopilot on a 1968(?) M20C and it had the funkiest control yoke ever. I had to make a custom bracket with standoffs. It was kinda dumb, honestly. Garmin just said "manufacture a bracket to fit lol good luck". However, we did not need a DER.
