  1. Yes, the prop governor is on the right side, I had this impression, without remembering clearly, that the oil pump housing was also on the right side, but I guess it is not if you're looking at the drawings.
  2. The prop governor bracket, to me, is the big barrier that I'll have to think about. It's right there and not sure what I'd have to do to make the oil filter fit. Thanks for the reminder.
  3. Yes, I noticed that. I realize there must be a couple different PNs for the boot sizes.
  4. Yes, I was as surprised as you when I found out that it has altitude hold... well it does when the servos are working!
  5. Just bought a 1967 F and my elevator trim boots are bad, how do we start this up again?
  6. Can you refresh this link? I know it's been years :-D
  7. Thank you for the response! Did you require a spacer, or does that fit out of the box? I realize it's and extremely tight fit, and I'm OK with the "cons" because it's already a nightmare back there. Also assume the superior gasket under "Frequently Purchased with" is the one you bought as well?
  8. My recently bought Mooney does not have an oil filter, just wondering what the group's experience with what is a reputable and quality oil filter adapter manufacturer? I am not quite sure what the spacer size is. Where do I start with looking for this part?
  9. Here are links to videos in response to a previous post where you told me to set the trim full up/down to see how the bungees were working. It led me to the disassembly that generated this post. https://drive.google.com/file/d/15ejSrzggeifHAhGH_MJ3vJTEsrVK_tRN/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dE9TUsvxeIF79-m0d4JMrmB49EBXs8A9/view?usp=drivesdk
  10. That would be great. I'll call LASAR today and update this conversation when I know. But it's safe to say they won't have it. Maybe they can give me the specs so I can procure one myself. Just very crudely I was able to compress the spring 1" with about 25lbs of force.
  11. Got the bungees apart on Saturday. One spring is broken, of course it's not in stock. Trying to figure out how to replace it by finding an equivalent.
  12. No shimmy, no directional problems. My A&P is very experienced overall, with some Mooney experience but not a lot. We have a great relationship where we do owner assisted annuals and it's a very learning friendly environment, but he's also quite conservative.i can have the discussion about deferring maintenance if I bring some substance. This group helps a lot with that.
  13. I have read other threads here about this but I'd still appreciate input on the urgency of action regarding how much play there is in the nose gear. My A&P seems to think it's pretty bad. Edit: just removed access restrictions. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PlbGSu-92SCLNSjbroHss-wG_-plGW70/view?usp=drivesdk Thank you all!
  14. Great responses, thank you! The elevator is perfectly in line with the horizontal stab on the ground. I am definitely not in favor of unnecessary maintenance and will take all these answers to the hangar on Thursday. My main goal at the moment is to locate the oil leak source. My A&P mentioned it might be the fuel pump diaphragm but we'll clean it up first, then run it and see if we can source it. On our ferry flight from Spokane to eastern Montana we only were down half a quart, hardly anything to worry about.
  15. I think just by feel, that there does not appear to be any resistance or spring pushback. I was honestly deferring to them, but I didn’t feel any slack or troubling feeling in the controls. From pushing gently up and down on the elevator the bolt moves all the way out and in. Since I am deferring to them I took it on faith that it must be wrong, but maybe it’s fine. My A&P has owned about a dozen Mooney’s so I just listen to them. The pics are of me pushing and pulling.
