  1. How far is Appleton? What are they charging for the home?
  2. But my wife just reminded me that we are blessed and these are first world issues. Good reminder, I'm not saying it rationalizes the huge increase on everything we buy but hey, we get to own and fly our own plane. Darn cool
  3. yep agree, everything is ridiculous
  4. agreed but I have 8 times the hours you have and have owned 4 long body Mooneys. I would have expected more than a $300 difference in premium with all my hours. But it's today's insurance environment as Ray points out.
  5. Yeh, I definitely won't fall over a few $100.I just wanted to make sure that it seemed reasonable.
  6. will do, thx guys
  7. great, good info. Thx i am 62 so definitely creaping up
  8. Yep, good points. Getting a few more quotes. Appreciate the feedback.
  9. ok, appreciate your information and perspective. Helpful
  10. Had an Acclaim last year, double the hull coverage. Only $1k more
  11. So I am looking at a 95 Ovation, $215 hull value. I am 3600TT, 1800 in type, IFR etc. Just got quoted at $3,960 for $1mm liability and no passenger sublimit. This seems high to me. What does the group think?
  12. Yes, Joey is very experienced. I had a good experience with his shop.
  13. Yeh thx, Joey did a TOP on an Acclaim I just sold. Will definitely reach out to him. Boroscope will be key at this point.
  14. Yes, thx Greg. They did the last annual so looking for a different set of eyes.
  15. Yes, but seller is leaving for 45 days and doesn't have anyone to fly it
  16. Any suggestions on a shop within an hours flight of Little Rock?
  17. Any good recommendations for a mobile prebuy? Plane (M20R) is ~60 miles from Little Rock. Thx
  18. Good input guys, appreciate your feedback.
  19. So I owned an Ovation with 310hp but never flown a 280hp version. For those of you who have, is there a significant difference in performance so makes it not worth looking at non-STC planes?
  20. My vote is the Acclaim. The culmination of years of innovation on speed and efficiency.
  21. Very exciting, I recall my first buy. Enjoy
  22. Thx, you I have many good ones before. Just never had to sift through some much poorly maintained ones
  23. at least you are flying it, assuming you fly it enough to flash off the water. ie get oil hot enough
  24. Yeh I hear this. The last 3 planes (I have bought, flew and sold 16 planes in the past 19 years) I sold, an Acclaim, a Mirage and a Jetprop all had service center pre-buys. The total squack repair cost was <$2,000 combined for all 3 planes. I totally agree to factor in some post closing repairs. The issue is i won't pay full top end retail then add on an additional $20-$30k in repairs. Maybe I should just convert an old school bus and go on the road.
  25. Could not agree more. I guess I thought the pilot community was immune from the demise of quality in this country. Proven wrong.
