  1. No, I would buy their full cover set. also, I bought the lightweight material. they have a set for outdoor storage
  2. Stopped at KUBS on our way from SW FL to Osage Beach. Dan is fantastic at the FBO.
  3. So I went ahead and ordered the cover. $300 less than Bruce's. Nice quality and many colors. Fits great and 3 tie down straps. Would definitely recommend. Just for nights on the road, not a hangar replacement.
  4. 2nd on Eric in Willmar. Busy but very knowledgeable.
  5. Flightaware registration says it's a 2003 M20R, engine info says Cont IO-550. strange
  6. great, appreciate the photos
  7. excellent, thx
  8. Got quoted $1,500 to replace on my Ovation. Anyone get it done lately? Cost?
  9. Thx, replacing that now. Thx
  10. Bruce is top notch, he can help you through all if it. Fantastic individual
  11. Bought an 03 Ovation and having some #5 cylinder cooling issues. I understand there is a "mod" that can enhance airflow past the alternator. How and where do I get it? What's the feedback from those who have done the mod. Thx
  12. Yep, exactly my mind set. The plane is hangered except when we're gone.Which like you said , is less than fifty days a year. Haven't tried it on yet, but they had me send some very detailed pictures with measurments So i'm expecting it to be nice
  13. You got it, great service as well
  14. So I just had another situation on an IFR flight plan. I am fully aware that SW FL is a VERY congested airspace. South of Sarasota on my way to Punta Gorda adsb showed a plane at 1 o'clock and 300' above and 5 miles. No call out, now 3 miles, now 2 miles. I can't even get a call into ATC with obviously twice the number of planes on frequency then the controller can handle. I just made my own 30° deviation, let him pass and then back on my original heading. Not a peep from ATC. Reality, as PIC you are responsible for your own separation. I don't ask anymore in SW FL, I just do. The degradation in our country has infiltrated aviation. Be diligent and use any and all traffic technology.
  15. So I just ordered a fuselage cover for my 03 Ovation. I ordered it from Mac's Covers. Half the cost of Bruce. Have not tried the fit but the fabric and workmanship seem really good. Will report further.
  16. Mirage yes! Saratoga no
  17. Agreed, with the new technology it's time to tighten up the call outs. My point only was we as PIC need to tighten up our game in monitoring our traffic technology and our scan of the sky. It seems as though it will only continue to get worse.
  18. No I have not been able to match up my on board fuel flow number versus what the test gauges show. that's my next step, it's an almost new GI-275 install displaying FF, doesn't mean it's perfect but at least it's new avionics and the install was done by Sarasota avionics.
  19. Agreed, we pay for it through taxes, surcharges on fuel etc.
  20. Crossing FL E to W yesterday at 10k on an IFR FP. I notice a plane in opposite direction 10 miles out, 200 above. Panel starts barking. He passes 1 mile off my right wing, 200 above. No call out from ATC. I wait a few mins and query controller. He says umm, "yeh sorry we are a bit behind the curve today, again I am really sorry" Reminder is even on an IFR FP your life depends on the PIC to keep you safe. Can't rely on ATC, they are over worked, under staffed and not providing the same level of service some if us are used to paying for.
  21. It's the 280hp, yeh most set it up from 25.0-27gph. Only way to keep CHT on #5 from getting dangerously hot. Like 430°. It's a common practice. Book says 22.7gph just like book says you can run 460°CHT and TIT on turbo of 1690. Which we all know is ludicrous
  22. Yep, he has a benefit of flying it
  23. Yeh thx, I have Brian on retainer. Correct, definitely some art too it
  24. that's the way to do it
  25. yep, already encountered that. book says at 2500rpm, FF 22.7. WAY to low. looking to get 2550 rpm and 26.5 gph at sea level max power take off.
