  1. great, appreciate the detailed explanation
  2. It's fogging and some larger drops. So you cover the plastic with tape if you are expecting rain? Flying early tomorrow so hopefully it clears. Thx
  3. ok thx, is there a gasket that may have shrunk over time?
  4. Owned this acclaim for a month. it spent last night on a ramp and it rained overnight. Never had this on my previous 3 Mooney's. 1) How do you clear the moisture out? 2) Is there a chance water has infiltrated into the fuel tanks? I will obviously sump before the next flight. I assume I am not the first to encounter this annoying event.
  5. Great, I will definitely ask Joey about it. Sounds like a great product. lower noice would be a added bonus
  6. great thx, excited to work with him
  7. not exactly sure, they indicated it was "a drone flying south a 1000ft below us". they did they did not see it any screen, only visually as they passed over it
  8. Fantastic, how refreshing to deal with a craftsman. Look forward to working with him.
  9. So needing to replace door seal on my Acclaim. Did see a string about a year ago. Wondering if anyone has replaced one recently, if so what product? Any words of wisdom? I will be having Cole in GA do it, not me the flunky.
  10. Thx Mike and -a-, yes definitely an issue that needs to find a fix. Glad Joey was able to get us in on Monday. Will definitely report back and appreciative Mike E suggested the new digital CO monitor.
  11. Yes I will, appreciate the positive feed on him. Is it Joe or Joey?
  12. yeh I was wondering about that, it does seems quite loud but I had no point of reference.
  13. excellent, Joe Cole is going to pressure up the exhaust and spray on the soap to find leaks. I know for sure the seal is split all along the edge so I expect it's not sealing well at all. Appreciate your insight.
  14. Great, when you say door seal, the black one around the door edge or the interior trim seal?
  15. This past Tuesday we flew from SWFL up to SC, us at 15000. United calls in at FL210 and reports a drone passing underneath them at FL200. No one at ATC seemed alarmed but I guarantee the United Crew was very alarmed.
  16. So we have ~40 hrs on an Acclaim we just bought a month ago. Just flew 3 legs with our new CO digital monitor. Getting 35-55ppm readings on the climb. Consistent 9ppm in cruise. In speaking with Dan Bass (shared his contamination story at Mooney Summit) he is getting 0ppm in climb and cruise. He suggested we look for exhaust leak(s). Headed to Cole Aviation on Monday. What levels are other pilots seeing? Any Acclaim owners have experience in chasing exhaust leaks? thx for any input.
  17. Love your honesty, these kinds of responses is why this forum is so valuable. Cheers to being truthful about your experience with these shops.
  18. I think you have a relevant expectation, if you get nothing in return then you should just send your $ to this forum and ask the experts here. Sometimes better input comes out.
  19. I second Mike or one of his guys, Sam Lindsay
  20. there is a fine line, same situation with the AP. Need to master it while not losing your ability to hand fly.
  21. exactly, a big threat to us all. The controller should have turned him in
  22. well said, I subscribe to the same philosophy
  23. A big shout out to Alex and Dan for putting on a great event. Looking forward to next year and a larger turnout. Well done Mike Elliott for starting this worthy event.
  24. A classic situation of a pilot not being proficient with his equipment. The controller is 100%, an IFR approach must be flown with a panel mounted, IFR approved GPS. Scary pilot
