  1. Hmm, separate from this current issue do you think it's worth tracking down replacements?
  2. No, but it may have had them before I owned it. I don't think so. It did have some kind of speed kit STC installed though.
  3. Also, who is near CRG in Jacksonville FL and wouldn't mind lending me some jacks for a swing test.
  4. Solved: low throttle switch malfunction. 1992 J: The other day I had an alarm when I tried to retract the gear. After several seconds, I put the switch back to the down position (alarm went quiet) and the gear would noticably (I tried it twice) make the usual clunk of going back down and the barber pole would go back to showing green gear down. I informed the tower that I had experienced this anomaly and was returning to land with gear indicating safe down and locked. They confirmed they could see the gear was down and provided some calming comments like: 'better down than up' and 'that woulda made for a long trip'. After a safe landing, I inspected the gear and saw what looks like evidence of rubbing. Paint on the tire shoulder, scuffs and scratches on the wing behind the wheel well. Here are some facts and pics: 1. My first plane, bought last year (lots to learn) 2. Have not checked date on pucks 3. No log entry for replacing pucks ever 4. First time having any gear issue 5. Was a 95 degree day 6. Did not try pressing override button 7. I already plan on replacing the pucks Do you think old squished pucks can cause this or is this something else?
  5. @Paul C Siedschlag, I have this. If this is it, I'll trade you for your old one and $150. I have the other parts of the spinner assy. as well.
  6. I think I have the parts. I'll check.
  7. Just to clarify, it does come with the antenna, the harness-side connectors, and the tray right?
  8. I think so too, it just is taking years longer than expexted given that they were already selling to Mooney owners as if it was a few months away. I hope for their success soon because the Dynon system looks quite compelling. Keeping this on topic by saying my concern is that we see the same thing from Deltahawk in a compelling pitch claiming imminent readiness followed by years of delay. That would screw a person over and cause AOG if their chosen engine kept getting schedule slipped in the way that Dynon's product did.
  9. I'm at 2100 hours SMOH. Engine is healthy now but fairly soon (few years maybe) I will be looking for an engine solution. I wonder if this will be ready for Mooneys by then or if this will be another Dynon autopilot situation.
  10. Well the -35 sold already ($450), but the KT 76C is still on eBay and it's currently at $125. Happy bidding if you so choose.
  11. Various motorsports driving shoes, Sparco, Piloti, etc. Also, Sketchers Citywalk works.
  12. AP, HDG, and ATT annunciators not lighting up, but all functions still work fine. Are there bulbs to replace?
  13. That's what my clamps look like. New lock washers too.
  14. FS: items listed below are posted here first with prices at the bottom end of the eBay distributions, what doesn't sell here will get posted there. Feel free to make offers or suggest combos/trade deals (I could use a good KX 155, ANR headset, pilot side electric speed brake, etc.). All items in Jacksonville, FL 32207. All items came with my plane when I bought it last year. One of the radios, the tailBeacon, and the transponder were installed at that time. 15. Engine is running now. Installed the mag with: "K" aligned in the little inspection plug window on the top of the mag Cylinder #1 at 25° BTDC on compression stroke (same as we did the first two tries) Tightened mag clamps with timing box indicating points opening at 25° BTDC for cyl #1 compression stroke This time it worked, not sure what is different and why it worked this time and not the first two times. I guess We either got it wrong somehow, or maybe just got it too flooded. Thanks for the taking the time folks. The fuel system is legit now, and the airplane is running again.
  16. Left side of what? What kind of hoses?
  17. Well the last two weeks have been a pain. The installation and overhaul work listed above is all complete, but the mechanic can't get the engine to start. After *we* flooded it and ran the battery dead, he has removed and double checked the magneto to engine timing, bench checked the mags, tested the condensers, confirmed that there is spark and checked the P-leads. He says it is acting like there is just no spark or that it's flooded. I'm thinking he may have missed something or gotten something wrong. To review what work has been done to the A3B6D, started this with a running engine that had a dying mechanical pump: Removed magneto to get access to replace engine driven fuel pump Replaced pump and one old hose Rebuilt gascolator (made a hole in the belly panel) Cleaned finger screen and replaced O-rings Re-installed and timed dual-magnetos Tried to start but no luck, not even a little Flooded engine Pulled mag and bench tested Checked leads and condensers Charged battery Re-installed mag Confirmed spark exists at plug Tried to start, no luck What do you folks think? Are these things that tricky? *edited to not be unfairly harsh on mechanic about flooding and battery
  18. I have everything you need, I just upgraded to a top prop. -17, and the -23s
  19. In progress update: The old pump and gascolator are out, following work is ongoing Gascolator overhaul with kit from LASAR New fuel pump installation New fuel hose from firewall to new pump Finger screen service & o-ring replacement New various camlocs to replace missing and wrong length units
  20. I'll place the order for the kit then.
  21. Mine is a 610015, not a 51200. But yes, I did check that out. I bet the plunger seat is all messed up from being stuck for decades and now getting twist-ripped free. Probably best to send it to LASAR for a rebuild. Do they do pumps too?
