  1. Thanks for the links. I’ll try them tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. How did you punch up FlightAware to see Mooneys? I thought you had to search one tail number at a time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. No disappointment, just hoping you had found a stable mechanical mount. John. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks for letting me know. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Lee, I am looking to repair or replace my right (panel-mounted) fuel gauge. You mentioned your right fuel gauge is a “rebuild.” Could you let me know where your right gauge was rebuilt? Is the cluster still available? John Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Aviatoreb, I am often at KRUT. Which airport are you at? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Do you have a RIGHT fuel gauge (panel mounted, not in the wing) for sale? I am looking for one for my 1990 M20J? I would probably buy a RIGHT and a LEFT if you have both for sale. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Rick, what mount do you use to mount your GoPro to the cabin ceiling? Could you post a photo of the mounted camera and the model number of the mount. I don’t want to damage the ceiling of my new (2020) interior. Thanks. John. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. What is the approximate count/mix of Acclaims, Ovations, Eagles, Js, Ks, etc? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I attended the BTV PPP in the Fall of 2006. We had heavy rain and low IFR all day Friday, most of Saturday, and most of Sunday. The photos this year look like beautiful weather. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. At which airport in the Dallas Ft Worth area is the October program? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. Does anyone know where I can find the “Manual Electric Trim” switch in the diagrams near the beginning of this topic? It is for my 1990 M20J. I can’t find the part number and can’t find a replacement switch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. I’ve been following the C-47s since they arrived at KOXC Waterbury Oxford CT a couple of weeks ago. That’s All Brother is the one from Austin, TX. I see it nearly every time I go to the airport to fly my Mooney. A friend of mine will be part of the crew starting June 9th for the flights to Germany and the North Atlantic flight back to Austin. We had an incredible time in Normandy. I was there before but had forgotten how beautiful the country side is and how nice the people are. We stayed at the Grand Hotel du Cabourg for 4 nights and then the Chateau de Canisy 5 nights. We visited most of the well known WWII related sights and many less well known ones as well (e.g. Hill 314). We had one “tourist” day at Le Mont Saint Michel and one in Honfleur. Let me know if you are ever in Austin or CT. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Schedule for the C-47. This plane dropped paratroopers on D-Day. https://thatsallbrother.org/tour/. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. Part of the tour will be all about D-Day. The leader of the tour is a history professor who specializes in WWII and specifically Normandy. He has lead 35 tours from the US to Normandy. I would like to be in Normandy on June 6th. We are considering coming back for the anniversary. My M20J is based at KHYI in Austin Texas. The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) based at KHYI is flying a C-47 from KHYI to Europe over the North Atlantic during the week of May 20th. It will fly over Omaha and/or Utah Beach in the 80th anniversary celebration on June 6 2024. Thank you for offering to get together for barbecue. I think the tour keeps us booked with sightseeing activities all day while we are on the tour. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. Ibra, we are in Normandy between May 2nd and May 11th. My wife signed us up for a tour of the region. We’ll be in Cabourg four nights and then the Canisy area for five nights. Then back to CDG to JFK. John. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. Ibra, thank you for your help. We’ve been in London for a week and today is the first day we’ve seen the sun! And it’s been rainy, cold, and/or windy. I went to Biaggin Hill airport Saturday; the ceiling was 300’. We’ve made reservations on the EuroStar for Wednesday, so I think we’re covered for this trip. Thanks again. John. 18. We are in London until Tuesday, 4/30. We need to travel to Cabourg France no later than Wednesday, 5/1. Are there any Mooney pilots who would like to fly my wife and me from any airport near London to an airport near Cabourg. I have owned a M20J since 1994 but have never flown in Europe. Thanks. 19. Best practice regarding LOCKING the baggage door? I was taught by my instructor at a Mooney PPP to close, latch, and LOCK the baggage door, not just close and LATCH it. I later saw Martha King latch but not lock the baggage door on her commercial maneuvers video filmed in a Mooney. The last two pilots I have flown with in their Mooneys latched but did not lock their baggage doors. Which is best practice, LATCH or latch and LOCK? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Jim’s, does your flat rate mean $450 for all the instruments you listed in your post or $450 for each of the instruments? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  21. Tim-37419 and Beard, the photos in your posts are just like the weld failures I found in my M20J front seats in March 2022. Mine were so bad the annual shop sent them out to a welding company near San Antonio to re-weld them. As I said in my posts a few days ago, I did not need to replace any rails, pins, springs, rollers, etc. I got the name of the aerospace welding company from Hector at Aero Comfort. The welding company only took about a week to do the work. Let me know if you need the name of the welding shop. John. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. One more point. The out-of-squareness worsened when the seats were cranked up toward the highest position. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I had the same problem on both front seats in my 1990 M20J in 2021. I thought it was due to one of the usual likely problems - e.g. the rails, the holes in the rails, the pins, the rollers, or the springs. The actual reason was that some of the welded joints at the corners of the metal rectangular frames under the seat cushions failed (in both seats). The metal frame(s) were not holding 90 degrees angles at the corners. The shop doing the annual sent the metal frames to a shop that re-welded them. Both seats have worked perfectly since March 2021. 24. I just returned to the US from a week long vacation in the Auchterarder, Gleneagles, St Andrews region of Scotland. I flew commercially so don’t have any advice for the trip in your Ovation. I have been to Scotland several times before for work but never had time to see the country of Scotland. My work trips included spending the entire time inside of office buildings, hotels, and the Glasgow airport. Scotland is beautiful, the weather last week was perfect, the Scottish people are really nice. You will really enjoy your time in Scotland. Let us all know how your trip was after you return. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. If you remove the 1.5 inch extensions please let me know. I would like to buy them for my M20J. John Griffin Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
