  1. Thanks, will check tomorrow. Are they easy to remove. Do I need to remove seats etc?
  2. Anyone has some good pictures or description how to access the inboard fuel senders? Also anyone that know the difference between 610243-003 vs 610243-001 and 610242-003 vs 610242-001.
  3. Is it possible to access the fuel senders (connection side) from any inspection panel? Or you need to open fuel tank ? My Left Fuel gauge is not working as it should.
  4. Plessy or Eaton spring?
  5. So if I want to order an V-Band Clamp for an TSIO-360SB is it part #653337 if I can find one or is it OK to get the superseded V-Band Clamp #670105 instead? Are both if found "legal" to use, or is there anything I need to check before ordering?
  6. Today I went to the hangar to see how the epoxy glue + carbon fiber weave went. Super strong, can't bend it... Tried with quite much force... Looks/Feels that Expoy/Carbon fiber weave bonded well with old plastic. Now I just need to find a good way to mount it back to the Alternator. For the moment, I used high heat silicon on one small part to attach it. But saw that there are 2 round holes. Where I think it would be possible to use Snap rubber grommet plugs, and then a screw or pin to attach/secure the cover instead of using silicon. Lasar.com want $450 for a new... If everything fails, then I buy a new one in future.
  7. I know, we'll see tomorrow how good it bonds. I've cleaned it with with IPA, and if it's delaminate I guess I have a carbon fiber shell :-) Did some test glue yesterday, on the black plastic. That bonded very well. White/Yellow plastic is different plastic material.
  8. What is the original part #? I have an #653344 alternator mounted, if the part # for the Cover is different? I guess the eppoy + carbon fiber weave will last forever. Sadly you can't see the carbon fiber pattern due to all the epoxy. Will take more pictures tomorrow when everything has dried. One of the tech's at Black Wing was willing to assist me to build a new one in carbon fiber. Would be fun, but think it's over kill.
  9. For the moment I gave it the epoxy + carbon fiber weave treatment. Good to have Black Wing manufacture as a neighbor :-)
  10. Thanks, will contact them. What was the price back then?
  11. Thinking of doing that as an option.
  12. I might need to find an replacement for my Alternator cooling cap in a M20K 252 with dual alternators. It's the one mounted back at the firewall (Alternator #1 ? / #653344 ) It might be repairable, but a new/used would be great. Where to find them?
  13. Thanks, I did look there, but couldn't find it!
  14. Anyone has POH rev 1236 for M20K 252?
  15. Can someone explain to me how to fly ROP an LOP with an Turbo engine, M20K 252/Encore. I'm familiar how to do it with an NA Engine. But little unsure about a Turbo.
  16. Lucky me, I don't drink Coffee...
  17. The actuator works fine as I know of. Spring has ~1650h and as I know after 2000h it's time to change it. But there are no springs available...
  18. I got a quote from LASAR for a NEW Eaton actuator for $35000 !!! Any other suppliers that might have have them for sale, at lower price ?
  19. I know early Bravos might have Plessey around 1990.. Not sure then Ovations came around.
  20. If I buy an Mooney with Plessey gear actuator, and there is 350h left on the spring. Is the only option today to replace whole gear actuator with Eaton. Any estimated price for gear actuator and installation? Can Eaton supply them without waiting 1 year ?
  21. So landing overweight ain't generally a problem as long you don't land to hard? And what is a too hard landing? Is a too hard landing in a Bravo/Ovation a too hard landing in a J or K for example. Or the long bodies are more sensitive/fragile ?
  22. Instead of creating new thread, I hope it's OK to ask it here. You Long Body Mooney owners, how do you handle MLW (Maximum Landing Weight) restrictions? MTOW is when I do some quick calculations not a problem for my situation, but the MLW would be a issue to consider not being over 3200lbs when landing. It's very easy if you have an TKS Mooney with ~900lbs of Usefuel load to have 100lbs over MLW. How do you do if you need to land "over weight" In the manual it says it's OK to do a smooth landing, but how hard is to hard?
  23. I was not thinking of removing all TKS Fluid, but getting it down from 6.5g to 3 or something. Is it possible to pump it out from the filler hole?
  24. Hi all, You guys/girls that have TKS installed, is there a simple way to remove/drain TKS Fluid from the tank for summer use or when needed for W&B? Sure why fill it up to max when not needed, but I've noticed that TKS get filled up on the annual, that's why I wonder if there is a simple way. Instead of running the system and waste the fluid, would like to save it for another time.
  25. This more or less what I did when I bought and sold my Arrow. Now I'm in the market again, and there are many sellers that don't know how to sell an aircraft. I get the feeling that they think it's like buying an car or something. I had one seller and broker that got pissed when I asked for the logbooks, and wondered why I did want them... They were missing from 1982 - 2008... But then again, there are some serious sellers out there that do what it actually takes to get an aircraft sold. One of them is willing to fly 6h to have it pre-buyed at maintenance firm I requested. Also recommend that it's stated in sales agreement who pays for what etc.
