  1. Wow, thank you, @cliffy! What kind of conductive gasket? Rubber with carbon? Metallic cloth with rubber around the outside? Perhaps I can find some sheets and make my own! Here's what I could use, if resistance is low enough: https://www.mcmaster.com/products/conductive-gaskets/electrically-conductive-high-temperature-silicone-rubber-sheets/
  2. @N201MKTurbo and @MB65E, on my 67 F, the 7 antenna seems to have a traditional gasket, black, that looks worn. I saw some green corrosion on the interior, so I think it's leaking, and I'd like to remove, clean, and re-install. Are you guys saying that I should fully re-secure the antenna, then apply a fillet of polysulfide sealant around the outside of the joint? The CI-196 lists a gasket B19604, but no mention of gasket material, shape. Thanks much.
  3. Which antenna is this? Comm? Nav? VOR? IFR?
  4. What is the best (least) oil consumption rates you guys have ever seen with your IO-360 A1A’s? (Hours per quart?)
  5. We continue to have issues with the ram door staying shut even after adjustments, it's a pain to remove the front cowl. Yes, stock filter and intake. Any recommendations appreciated.
  6. Hi all, looking to get rid of the Ram Air on my '67 F. I thought I ran across an STC that added an exterior shut-off plate, but I can't find it. Anyone know if there's a kit or STC, etc? Thanks much
  7. @oregon87 @carusoam and others: Can the EI CGR-30P/C display TIME TO WAYPOINT? I know it says it can display time & distance to "destination" and to empty, but what if I am using a flight plan on my nav system and am wondering about fuel to my 2nd and 3rd leg? Also, can anyone confirm the CGR-30's will accept GPS data format from an old GNC 300XL? E.I. Sales didn't seem to have any documentation listing accepted input GPS formats. Here's the formats our old nav system outputs: ARINC 429; RS232 – Plotting (NMEA 0183 v.2.0), Aviation, PC Interface, Altitude Serializer, Fuel Sensor, Fuel/Air Data Computer; Gray Code, RMI Serial Data Thanks much
  8. Since the EI CGR-30's interface box must be mounted on the INSIDE of the firewall, doesn't this mean that fuel lines, oil lines, etc must still penetrate the firewall? Why don't I see them in the photo above? Thanks
  9. It looks like maybe Garmin was listening when you posted this, as CHT, EGT, and fuel flow are on every screen, besides the config screen: https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/897577
  10. @J0nathan225 and @Marauder or others: Did you install your JPI engine monitors on the outside of the panel (no panel cutout)? They seem to be sticking proud quite a bit. The installation manual says to cut the rectangle in your panel. How's that working out for you? Do you have to remove the engine monitor to remove the panel?
  11. Got a few questions for those of you with the Whelen 600 / 650's: 1) With the 650, any issues with low battery voltage? (datasheet says they only function down to 11v, as opposed to the 600's which function down to 9v) 2) Anyone know which model is better for a '67 M20F? 3) We have a uAvionix ADS-B-in on the Left wing, so it already has LED's integral. Does it have a sync wire? (install manual doesn't mention one) 4) Which model is brighter (outward and to the pilot)? 5) Which model is better for the metal wingtips like our '67 F?
  12. Has anyone seen a list of how Mooney front seats differ between years/models? Will all newer front seats fit in my 67 M20F? I’m hoping I can just buy some J or Rocket/Ovation front seats. The goal is more adjustments and a headrest.
  13. What is wide-deck and how can I tell?
  14. So we found the problem. 25 hours after a new top-end one cylinder has compression of 8psi, another 62, 73, 74. My A&P has noticed that the zero compression cylinder has a pretty heavy hone pattern on chrome. The 62psi one has no home pattern. These were overhauled top ends from a repair shop. Does anyone know of a document or manual that describes if honing is allowed on chrome IO-360 cylinders?
  15. So a correction on our situation that spawned this thread: plugs are not fouled. Uppers we’re fine and lowers we’re oily.
