Our system requires 28 volts so some of the older Mooney's are no an option yet. the ground cooling and no flight restrictions are great! the sheet metal modifications mentioned here are taken care of during the installation as well as the monor paint work. being a Mooney man myself, i made sure the Hat Rack is still available ! wd

The new all electric A/C is completely certified. The evaporator fits in HALF of the Hat Rack. Now we match the leather color on your interior. We have also made the "Ground or Pre Cooling" easier. Walter Dodge Kelly Aerospace Thermal Systems

Our ELECTRIC a/c USES A hermetically sealed brushless D/C compressor. We don't use an electric motor as the weight and power draw gets to be too much. We add a 150 amp alternator to the kit not so much for the power but the new technology alternators have lower "Cut In" RPM. This allows for great cooling at taxi and lower RPM operations. the system weights about 60 pounds and produces serious cool air and plenty of it! Walter

If we are successful we will pursue an STC. Our F Model still has the Johnson Bar and no electric flaps so it will be easier. it will get expensive if we have to address actuators and motors. It already had the 201 windshield installed. wd

At 14 volts it is terrible it needs 28 volts. We put on in one of my guys RV and it blows cold air but wont keep the cabin cool wd

Doing a total rebuild of our 1967 Mooney F model. Only has 1646.48 total hours on the airframe. New panel and 201 windshield a a few other speed mods! it's a 14 volt machine and we plan to investigate changing it over to 28 volts. If we are successful in the 28 volt conversion we will install our all electric Air Conditioning. Keeping the original F model paint scheme. more to come Walter Dodge

This is Walter Dodge with Kelly Aerospace Thermal Systems. we have an all electric A/C STC for the Ovation that not only has no flight restrictions for take off and landing but it works great on taxi and take off. It also can be plugged in to a 50 amp GPU and you can precool your aircraft. 55 pounds. Walter
