Got the radio back from mikes avionics out of AZ. He couldn't pin point a problem necessarily but he realigned the radio to specs and all is well now. I recommend for older king and narco problems. Clear as a bell now.

It happens when engine off too but seems to be more intermittent. Weird that its only on 1 freq? If a filter is added how does that work? I will try pulling breakers. I only have 1 nav/com and I've tried shutting of all lights, transponder etc. and has brand new generator and electronic voltage regulator.

Soooo. Since I bought the C a few years ago Ive had some intermittent radio noise on only 1 frequency(123.00) All other frequencies are crystal clear. As soon as another pilot talks on 123 it clears up but as soon as there done, noise is back. Noise is steady now when nobody is talking. not intermittent anymore. Drives me crazy. Any ideas? Lucas

All fixed with no leaks now I'm happy to report. They drilled out the rivets and installed new ones. That did the trick.

my mechanic at this years annual told me that the baffles are missing from my inside muffler? How does that happen? What will that do to performance? etc, Said Im going to need a new muffler Thanks -
My mechanic just stopped by and looked at it again. he is gonna replace the rivets. He doesnt like them. Says he pretty sure fuel is coming out there after wiping off and watching.

Would sealant on the threads be a good idea if the sheet metal surface is the problem?

Ok my mechanic did mention something about the sheet metal. I wonder what could be done there to resolve the problem? Great point!

So I have a M20C with the screw in fuel drains. I have had a fuel leak for 2 years since I bought the plane. We have replaced the fuel drain and gaskets a few times and tried to reseal the area inside the tanks. I think its coming from the rivets and my mechanic mentioned something about replacing the tube rivets with solid ones. What are some suggestions? I saw something on bucking the rivits? What is that? Thanks as always.

I have the same leak but changing the gasket has not helped. Cant tell if its coming from the rivets next to it from the nut plate or something else. -
Refurbed generator from aircraft spruce

I had the generator swapped out yesterday and man what a difference. Actually coming online around 800RPMs now. Was around 1700RPM before it failed totally.
