Hi everyone, I would like your suggestions (from personal experience preferably) on the best type of sealant to use on the screws in my fuel tank access panels on the bottom of my wing. I have one screw in particular that has an ongoing minor leak that I would like to rectify. Any suggestions on the best process in the use of the sealant would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Note: I have searched the MS site without finding anything.

Hi group. I’m replacing my flap actuator cable assembly on my 67 F. I’m missing a part of the cable assembly that sits behind the interior plastic in front of the j bar. Does anyone have a link to a parts manual that you can share? the part I need looks similar to this one but larger.

Hi, Not sure about who local to you to recommend for a Mooney-specific pre-buy inspection. If anyone has a resource in the So-Cal area that would be great to know. In regard to transition training I hear that Paul Kortopates is highly recommended. I have worked with Donald E Kaye (he flew down from Nor Cal) and Mike Jesch out of KFUL for my transition training. Both are really great to work with.

Yes, it turned out to be just an indicator problem.

Opened up the belly and found the issue was a broken bolt holding the wire to the trim indicator. Mechanically the system works fine but the indicator was not working. All fixed now. Thanks for the input, everyone.

Hi everyone, My trim indicator was not working on run up today. I parked the plane and looked at the issue. The trim wheel turns freely but the tail section does not move at all to retrim the airplane. After further review, mechanically the trim is working fine but the indicator is not responding) Don Maxwell advised me on how to inspect the issue and thinks that one or more Clevis pins may have broken. Does anyone know what the part numbers for these pins might be? Has anyone had a similar issue and if so what did you find? Thanks in advance for any help. Michael

We had a wonderful time last weekend in Sunriver, Oregon at the West Coast Mooney Club Summer Conference & Retreat. Thirty one of the forty five registered attendees joined us as the wildfires and smoke kept some away. Sponsors and presenters included Don Maxwell, Jan Maxwell & Jolie Lucas (Right Seat Ready Class), Richard Simile (Thunderbird Aircraft Sales), Parker Woodruff (Airspeed Insurance), Aaron de Zafra (Crewchief Systems), Brett Stokes & Dan Riesland (LASAR). We had a catered lunch and finished off he conference day with a Parade of Planes where everyone could show off their beautiful Mooneys. Saturday evening we had an awards and outdoor movie night where the movie "Flying the Feathered Edge" (The Bob Hoover Story) was presented. We had over $2,500.00 of raffle prizes donated from Aircraft Spruce, Lift Aviation, Lightspeed, Bruce's Custom Covers, Tempest Aviation, Baker Avionics, JPI Instruments, King Schools, Crewchief Systems and Pilot Outfitters. The raffle ticket sales generated over $560.00 of proceeds that are being donated to the Bill Gilliland Foundation c/o The Mooney Summit. I am so happy that we had the opportunity to share the weekend together with other Mooniac's in such a beautiful location. Many of us enjoyed the resort activities including golf, river rafting, swimming, spa treatments and some wonderful meals.
