  1. I recently went to AGL at KMRN and met Mr. Belleville and Lynn! Great, great bunch of folks! I got a chance to see Bobs Beautiful E and its amazing panel! Lynn of AGL rebuilt my gascolator and it helped diminish the fluttering considerably. What I mean is that the speed/frequency continues to correlate with engine RPM but the arc of the needle's movement is reduced from a 5'ish lb. twitch to less than 2. Does this jive with others experience or should I dig further? The fluctuation is totally negated when the electric fuel pump is engaged. Pressure is 26 lbs. on the engine driven pump and 28 with electric pump assisting.
  2. Nice meeting you Thursday Bob B! Thanks All for the data/input!
  3. 3 cheers for GAMA Carusom ! While instructing I accumulated quite a few different POH's, AFM's and "Owners Handbook of Operation" copies etc, Some detailed, some not so much. I have also contacted Mr Crawford at Mooney to get an official read on what supplements to the Owners Manual are available for performance etc. However, I now look to supplement predictive math with.experience when I or others make it available. And that, Is why I ask!
  4. Great info, Thank you! A 1966 E...
  5. Gents/Ladies, I was digging through my manual after doodling with a new flight planning app. I have always used 16.5 GPH for fuel consumption flight planning in climb. Now, for the life of me I can't remember from whence that number came ? I have the POH that reflects cruise numbers, but nothing else? I only have the single CHT and a fuel pressure gage in my A/C and I am planning on doing some longer/extended endurance flying where planning will be more crucial. Can any experienced E types provide details or direction?
  6. Does anyone have the correct part no. for the AN-3 fuel strainer/Gascolator bolt seal on the base of the H&E 769 unit? I'm not looking for the 2" seal that is sandwiched between the bowl and the body. I've searched this site and others including the Stat-o-Seal nomenclature break-down PDF and there seems to be lots of "it would work" options. Nothing is listed in either my parts catalog or service manual. Lastly, the part no. for the O-ring for the selector valve itself?. Help! I'm curious? Why is there is no technical reference or DIY section on this site?
  7. Thanks Jim/Bob! Yes, my fuel pressure gage, the original Mooney one is "fluttering" (rapidly fluctuating over a few lb. range). Lynn at AGL suggested I consider resealing the strainer to cure the problem. He said he is beginning an annual pretty quick on another Mooney and would then have part numbers/parts to provide. He also suggested a nifty way to trouble shoot it. He seems like a great person (he and Tamara)! Thanks for suggesting him Bob. Could it be your Mooney in for a Flight Physical at AGL?
  8. I'm curious 1964 M20E (having never disassembled the strainer), why 1/16" gasket thickness as opposed to the 1/8 as offered by Brown?
  9. Curious, may I ask LASAR's price for the rebuild? Does yours have the drain pull-ring as part of the gascolator?
  10. I suspect the gear handle was in the up position while taxiing. He then added power and airspeed built enough unloading /triggering the gear cycle,....Thoughts?
  11. Top Gun! A retired Air Force Chief runs (or did run) the shop. I'm biased, but for me, this means he is honest above reproach and technically capable beyond his peers. If he says he can, he will, or die trying...
  12. Attached an A/C photo in the intro!
  13. Thanks Bob! I didn't know that. Mooneymite I'm on sabbatical (read jobless) at the moment (you know its bad when they pay you to NOT come back!). I'll possibly end up at one of the local contract facilities. However a military bud is looking for controllers in A-stan. I'm not certain I'm safety wired for non-military, military work though... Photos? Do they have to be hosted elsewhere or does this site do that?
  14. Mooneymite, Ahh yes, poor choice of words. Apologies. Fixed. Hank, I'm at KGYH. Nice to meet you all!
  15. Howdy Lads/Lasses! New guy here. Retired military with 29 years 4 months and 14 days, but who's counting, right? I am/was was an Air traffic Controller, working Tower and Radar in both Military and Civilian facilities and flight instructed on the side for awhile as well. I'm in S Carolina with an 1966 M20E. It is a former Bendix King airplane that was sold off with tons of hours on the airframe but has great hours remaining on everything else. The radios are all circa late 1990's. Electronic HSI, S-Tec 50, KLN-94B, TIS, XM, StormScope, Radar Alt. MFD but nooo WAAS!!! Waaaah, right? Anyway it makes a good solid IFR platform (for now) and gets me and my better half around pretty reliably. Anyway, I just wanted to say howdy and thank you for your patience in advance as I figure out the do's and don'ts of the site and pump you folks for info! If on the other hand you need assistance or help with general debauchery US or otherwise, well I'd be pleased to assist.
