  1. I'm am interested in purchasing 2 sets of your Shaw 431/531. Do u have any kits for Swiss electro caps? Thx Aaron Wood Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk
  2. Anyone know the best source for sump fuel drain valves for the M20E? I just spoke to LASAR and they are indicating it requires a flush mount conversion for $349.99 per side. OUCH!!! I don't think we are talking about the same thing. I think the original part# was 610082. Thanks!
  3. I purchased a project 1964 M20E a little over a year ago. Having never flown a Mooney I jumped into Mooney ownership with both feet and now that I have been flying her for about three months now I am so excited I did. Amazing aircraft! Best of luck! I love my J bar Mooney.
  4. I'm really enjoying my new to me 64 M20E. Hate to see one written off but I guess some are just to far gone.
  5. Now that most of the major stuff is out of the way I'm working on some of the smaller items. At some point in time someone twisted a bit to hard on the cabin light switch and broke it off. Anyone know if it is possible to get a replacement or a source for a replacement rheostat?
  6. So with about 10 hours on the aircraft now I just can't get enough. If only there was more free time and money!
  7. I have got a few hours on her and the flying is awesome! I'm still knocking off the rust but I'm very pleased with the progress. I like the feel of the aircraft but am picking up on the more restrictive cockpit environment. My kneeboard is a bit bulky in this cockpit. Do you guys have any recommendations on a cockpit layout and a kneeboard etc that works well in this aircraft. I like to write down ATC instruction and other information pertinent to my flight without having to reach behind the seat for a pad of paper. Thanks!
  8. The BIG DAY finally arrived! We took her for her maiden voyage and she flew like a dream! Looking forward to getting really proficient flying her.
  9. I'm getting ready to reinstall the skin panels over the avionics accessory bay and the previous owner has about 15 different types of weather stripping to seal the panel. Anybody have any advice on the best type of weather stripping to use here. I haven't cut any corners yet so I might as well clean this up while I'm at it.. THX
  10. Interior finished! Before and after photos. Just a few more days to finish the engine and annual and she ill be ready for flight again!
  11. Engine runs today! She is purring like a kitten . Now I can equate the money I spend to the noise it makes at least!
  12. A slow week but with a couple days left on the interior and a couple days on the engine and annual we are getting soooooo close! Won't be long now.
  13. A quick update! Getting close to getting her in the air. I had the exhaust rebuilt and we just got it put back onto the aircraft. Over the weekend I installed the mounts for the new seat belt shoulder harnesses. A new interior is going in this week and with any luck we will be running it next week. Shouldn't be long now. Getting very excited about building some time in her! Pictures to follow
  14. Hit a road block today. Looked like there might be some small cracks in the ends of the exhaust. Had it checked and the initial assessment is that the exhaust might not be repairable. I don't want to look past a safety issue but can an exhaust be repaired? Any recommendations on a good replacement? Not planning on getting a super awesome tuned exhaust yet as I just want to get the girl up in the air safely for now.
  15. More engine work today. The Prop Goes Back ON!!! Making good progress!
