  1. JWN is perfect for downtown access but it's closed for another month or 2. Lengthening the runway. MQY is a nice airport and maybe 25 minutes to downtown, fuel is reasonable, cars to rent, not sure about ramp space right now due to JWN closing and planes relocating to MQY. I'd call the FBO there first. M54 is about 25-30 minutes to downtown, but may be harder to find a rental car??? Not sure. Plenty of ramp space. Gas is slightly cheaper than MQY. MBT is a good option about 35 minutes to downtown. Gas is about 40 cents cheaper than MQY. Plenty of ramp space. Not sure about rental cars. Can be very busy with MTSU flight school. Looks like a beehive on radar scope at work. BNA is 10 minutes to downtown at most. Gas is nearing $8 a gallon. Plenty of ramp space and rental cars. Having said all that, I'd park at either MBT or M54. Uber or cab to downtown. If I'm available, I'll pick you up from airport and drop you off downtown if you show me your plane.... If you need any suggestions for food, I can help with that. Lots of good food in Nashville.
  2. That's usually where the flight school fuels up
  3. Not much to add, I work at BNA and there's an airport about 15 miles east of Nashville with cheap fuel. The identifier is M54.
  4. Anyone have a ballpark figure for a PPI? I know they can vary greatly depending on who does it.
  5. I'll be moving to Dallas in July so I'll make a trip down there then. Would you still recommend a PPI when buying from a place like that?
  6. Does anyone know much about all American aircraft in TX? They seem to specialize in selling Mooney planes and look to have some good options, although prices might be a little steep
  7. Browncbr1. Do you know if they're posted online anywhere or just over at FBO?
  8. All great info. Thanks all, I'll continue to do lots of research and hopefully find a good solid plane when it comes time for me to buy.
  9. Highly recommend Nashville flight training at BNA. Tall to jeremy or Erik. both really good people and great flight instructors. They have two Skyhawks and an archer. they are also cheaper than wings of eagles but the planes aren't as new.
  10. Around 6% for 15 years, with intentions of paying it off in 5 or less unless the plane has some expensive fixes needed. Excuse my ignorance,I'm a newbie. I know what PPI I'd but what's MSC? I can buy and store an O for 1.5 AMU a month?
  11. Hangar was $220/mo and insurance was $1500/yr
  12. Short body**
  13. $1500/mo. Range***
  14. if my monthly price range is unrealistic, somebody please let me know.
  15. my budget isn't set in stone yet. I will have to finance the aircraft. As of right now I'm thinking somewhere in the $1500 home on the range. That includes my payment, insurance, hanger or tie down, fuel, reserves and all that good stuff. I'm thinking a C or E model but would love a J. my main mission will be under 2 hours. the sore body will work fine, I'll usually just be picking up my son and bringing him back home. Houman, I'm out of town right now, otherwise I would love to come look at it. I work tower and approach at BNA so if you're ever back in the area, let me know and I'll check it out. TWinter, that sounds great. I would like to take you up on that offer once I get my license. That should be soon once the plane I've been training in is back from its annual.
  16. New to the site and fairly new to aviation. I'll be finishing up my ppl soon and I'm wanting to buy an airplane. I'm stuck between a V-tail bonanza and a mooney. Is there anyone on this site in the Nashville area that would be willing to show off their mooney to help me decide which way to go with my future purchase? Thanks Mike
