  1. Dear Mooniacs In our 1998 M20J Allegro, s/n 24-3429, we installed in 2020 the Power Flow Exhaust System. I now realized that we still have the original and complete exhaust system, removed at 1.400hrs and 22years AirframeTT. Today I took the pictures in attach of the original Exhaust System that I keep in my garage. Do you think this is useful to you? If so, would you like to make an offer via PM?? Kind regards Fredi +351 910 690 093
  2. Our mechanic already did some troubleshooting and didnt found any loose electric connection. He says the transducer is no longer working correctly.
  3. Hi Richard For my 1998 M20J I am looking for a Fuel Pressure Transducer on Sigmatek gauge. I believe your Ovation has the same Transducer. Since you are removing the engine gauges, I wonder if the Fuel Pressure transducer is for sale? Cheers, Fredi
  4. Thanks Skip! Do you have any idea what specs do I need to order? Output connection? Accuracy? etc... And where can I find the adapter? Many thanks! Fredi
  5. I need a Fuel Pressure transducer for 98 M20J.
  6. Dear Mooniacs Our 98 Mooney M20J Allegro is showing a fluctuating Fuel Pressure indication on original engine gauges. On startup, taxi, take off and initial climb everything is fine, and then a few minutes after airborn the needle starts fluctuating, and then some times the needle is completly dead showing "zero" pressure, and afterwards sometives gets alive again... without any regular behavior. The fuel pressure is obviously good (engine runs smooth all the time and fuel flow on Shaddin is perfectly normal), so I think the problem is with the Transducer, and my mechanic agrees with me. I think these Transducers are hard to find... any idea how can I solve this situation without moving to digital/glass instruments? Many thanks in advance for your comments. Fredi
  7. Thanks all to your opinions. I send an email to PF with exact same photos, vídeo and descriptions, and below it’s PF answer to this issue: “It sounds like the issue that is causing the worm gear to not work properly is due to the backlash, which can not be fixed in the field. If the backlash is not set properly it will cause the worm gear to strip. We highly recommend you send them in to us for repair because if you purchase and install the worm gear, it will eventually have the same issue.”

  9. In our 1998 M20J Allegro (1500Hrs TTAF), equiped with PF SpeedBrakes since new [P/N 540S108A – 100 Series – Cartridge Assy 28 V (P/N 01577) RH/LH], we have been dealing with some problems on the brakes along the years. Sometimes they do not retract on full down position. Sometimes they just go up halfway. And this happens sometimes on Right side and sometimes on the Left side. Maintenance from our mechanic solved the problems, including new Gears replacement on both sides in 2015 @ $262,86 TOTAL for the 2x gears. A couple of years ago, after reading several topics here on MS, we realized that the SpeedBrakes needed Aeroshell22 lubrification on every Annual Inspection, and so our mechanic started doing the SpeedBrakes ICA preventive maintenance, which helped keeping them in working conditions for a longer period of time than before. I also noticed that these problems usually happens after a wash, which make sense according to some posts here referring that water will remove the lubrification. ( I started to protect the SpeedBrakes with tape every time I wash the aircraft now. And also, I am ordering dry wash products form Aerocosmetics to avoid these washing issues on SB). Right now the RightSide SpeedBrake is not going up. Today I took it out and confirmed that the motor is working, but the gear is not connecting. I did a quick lubrification but did not solved anything. Maybe the gears are worn out again?? Seems not possible because they were replaced only 7 years ago we do not use the brakes very often. Any thoughts what could be the problem? Did someone already had this issue that can share the solution? I know PF will do an OVHL for about 2000Usd, but I would prefer to try to solve this issue by myself before spending so much money!! I send in attach some pictures and videos. Thanks in advance for your help. Fredi
  10. Thank you! I am already chasing it
  11. Hi All My efforts to find 1x OilSender PN NORWICH 102-00066 for a 98M20J Allegro are not getting any positive result. It’s easier to find Rochester Senders for earlier M20 models, but impossible to me to find Norwich senders. Does anyone have one? Or does anyone have a late J or K, or early Ovation, that is going on digital engine instrument upgrades and might have these spare parts? Many Thanks! Fredi
  12. Actually that was a different part number. But I already send and email to Commodore, but didn’t get any reply yet. I will give them a call tomorrow.
  13. Exactly! Norwich of course. Thanks Clearence for the warning. Do you know where I can find one? I would appreciate very much any help on this chase!
  14. We tested the sender and the gauge. The problem seems to be with the sender, as predicted. But the P/N is not a Rochester 3080-37. It is a NORWICH 102-00066, and these are hard to find :/ Also, the resistance range of this sender is much narrow than topical Rochester senders… is seemed more or less between 100 and 180, in contrast with 30 to 500 range of Rochester
  15. Thank you very much!
  16. CptCloud, I am in the same situation… I need a 102-00066. Do you steel have one spare? I also have a 98 M20J Allegro and it uses a MERS 102-00066… and not a Rochester 3080-37, as I thought.. Many thanks in advance frederico
  17. Many thanks to bought of you!! I will forward this info to my mechanic right away!
  18. I just asked Mooney if they know where the ADF KR87 is wired to in order to get “airborn” information for the FlightTimer, and here is the answer: “Good Afternoon Frederico, Thank you for the inquiry - I have attached the Aircrafts Master Schematic and I also found the Installation of the KR87 ADF interconnect page for your reference. I hope this answers your question” I confess I got a bit lost after checking both diagrams :/ Does anyone can understand if the KR87 is connected to the Gear lights of the Anunciatir Panel, or if is wired to the Airspeed Safety Switch? 800383_RH_J2.pdf KR87 ADF.PDF
  19. It’s interesting that on last couple flights, with 02:00hrs duration each, the OilTempGauge always showed around 30° higher temps than JPI on taxi, take-off and climb, but during cruise the OilTempGauge started to decrease the “error” and showed almost the same temp as JPI, just like before this problem started. Next week our mechanic will test the sender to check its conformity, and I will post here the results.
  20. Thanks all for your comments. Our Mooney is a 1998 M20J Allegro SN 24-3429 (third last built). The original panel is shown on picture in attach. The factory installed Mini-Flo was correctly wired to the KLN-89b GPS for Fuel to Destination information. The factory installed EDM 700 never had the FuelFlow function and so it never been wired to GPS... I believe that this wasn´t anymore an option since Mooney started instaling the Mini-Flo instead.. Since factory the Flight Timer of the ADF worked perfectly, counting from wheels up moment (or similar). Both on factory KLN-89b and also on current GTN750 GPS, we have the flight time information. I am only trying to have also this information correctly shown right where it has been displayed before. I guess I must have a disconected wire somewere, or a broken switch. Hoping that someone had this issue before and could share his findings here to give me a shortcut on the troubleshooting But you are right Anthony, with all the above information, our avionics guy should easily sort this out. Cheers, Fredi
  21. Thanks a lot to both of you!! I will trace this issue and post here the results, as always. Cheers, Fredi
  22. Actually I was wrong and forgot that ET is for Elapsed Time I already reviewed this topic name. Just found an interesting installation manual for KR87.... On pages 25 - 27 it is clearly explained the possible wire connection to a gear retract switch or squat switch, which would be to the AS switch in our Late J Mooneys, for the Flight Timer reset: https://dokumen.tips/reader/f/kr87-install I am just wondering if someone solved this problem before and knows exactly where the wiring is going to from the ADF??
  23. Thanks Skip! I always wondered why the cooler only reduced 5°?! Buy it sounds logically now that the JPI sender is slight fresher because of its position. Does anyone knows the PN of this sender?
