  1. That makes sense. It doesn't take long to cool, it's just another thing to be sure not to switch off when in flight.
  2. They are this type. So maybe the klixons? Maybe a earlier version
  3. Last night when I switched off my landing light on my departure I accidentally switched off my nav lights. No biggie, but the problem was that they wouldn't switch back on. The rocker switch itself wouldn't lock in place so I turned into the downwind for a return back to the runway and assumed I popped a breaker but to my inspection I didn't. As I turned base in anger I pushed the switch again and I had my nav lights back. Went home and the same thing happened again, a few minutes later I was able to switch them back on. Please note they will stay on for hours with no sign of a short or faulty wiring any ideas?

    KBWG Landing

It was pretty tough below 4,000. But it was well managed

    KBWG Landing

made a 100 mile CC to pick up a passenger for my brothers graduation. This was a straight in landing (something I don't do often) on runway 3. It was a pretty nice day! IMG_1833.mov
  6. How is everything so far?
  7. Thanks a lot! That looks awesome!
  8. She likes to ride. But I'm going to have her go up with my instructor a few times to get comfortable with the mooney just in case things go south on my end
  9. Yes it is a 74 here's a pic of my panel. Well some of it any
  10. Yea I think mine is number 51
  11. I bought her from my father in law, it had 4037.0 total airframe time and 350+\- Hours on the new motor so that's a awesome plus. She sat for around 2 years after he bought his piper Saratoga. I've had the normal dry rot issues with some tires and some hoses, overall it's a excellent Mooney! I've put 36 hours on it in the past 6 months
  12. Hey guys I bought the ole bird!
  13. I'd say in the end I would rather be efficient, if I was flying for work and planned to carry people with luggage all the time everywhere I went then a commanche would be more desirable. Since I try to do what I can to keep my costs down a mooney is still the best option to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I'm thinking save up for a better down payment and buy a nice 201. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I find it funny that people on a mooney group would recommend a commanche. They must be better airplanes than I thought Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Well I'm back to square one. The deal fell thru with the mooney. So now I'm back at finding another one Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. A little side story id like to add, a church member took me for a ride in his Comanchee which when we took off he explained to me how it was for sale.... He bragged on how it could go long distances and all that garb. Well the other day i seen him at a local hardware store and explained to him that I was in the market for a mooney I said this knowing he had sold the Comanchee so I wouldn't have to stand another sales pitch. He looked at me kindof shocked and replied "well that Comanchee was better than any mooney". I told him I'd take his word for it lol as you can see I'm on a mooney forum and not a Comanchee forum. 18. Looks more like a Comanche variant... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. That's fine with me, send me your number so I can let you know when I get off for sure, I farm and I'm always on call at the fire department so my schedule can change pretty quickly at times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. What time you think, I get off work around 5:30 or 6. I'd be happy to show you around Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Thank you for the clarification!! No matter what I'm in it's always hours of happiness! Can't wait to get this bird back with its Brothers and sisters and meet some fellow mooney owners! Seems like a pretty tight knit group! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. He's something else that's for sure, really nice guy! I'm also glad someone has had mooney experience with him, I've watched him work on Em but never talked to the owner afterwards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I have actual instruction time in a G from a instructor friend, the time put in the F is time me and the owner put on together to basically stretch its wings and check to see if everything ran properly, so no time in my log book since I wasn't PIC. I'll ask David more about the magnet test. There maybe variants in airframe, motor setup, or differences unknown by me. When i say I'm located somewhere that's where I currently fly/rent from. 4M7 is visible from my house and that's where the mooney is. And M91 is closer than the current mechanic to the mooney. No 182 hours may not be a lot, but you tend to hear a lot of hanger talk. And gain a bit of respect for the mooney G that I've been in that has nearly 8,000 total airframe time, and the cessna that I rent that has around 5,000, both used as trainers, when you see a plane sitting in a hanger getting a rebuild at 1,500 hours you kinda put 2 and 2 together. The mooney space asked for a mooney and I hope to buy this one so I went ahead and put it in. If you want some specifics like when I poop or eat my breakfast Just ask I'll help you out. 24. I actually looked up the other Kentucky owner and it says he lives in bowling green which is pretty close to me. I texted my instructor which also lives in bowling green. Maybe I can contact the previous owner and get some insight from him. Hopefully good insight Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
