  1. My purchase of an M20C fell through when I had the airplane taken to Don Maxwell and he discovered an unapproved repair to a wing spar unknown to the seller who has proved to be a total gentleman about dealing with the situation. That being said, I cannot say enough good things about Don Maxwell, which comes as no surprize to this forum where i learned about Don to start with. All of that being said, now I need to find a Mooney M20 that I can afford. Anybody know of a good buy out there?
  2. "Jetdriven" pm mailbox is full. How can i pm him for the plans?
  3. Previously on this forum when there was much talk about these rudder pedal extensions being no longer available anywhere one member wrote that he had a pair "fabbed up" and owner installed. I am wanting to either buy a pair of used ones or have some "fabbed up." Can anyone help? Cheers
  4. Ever since I read "Fly the Engine" by Kas Thomas, I have made it a point to really get into a thorough pre-flight on my engine--including pulling/bumping the prop through all cylinders. Spotting a small oil leak before it advances, seeing an exhaust smudge around a stack or a frayed ignition harness--all of these things I have found over the years. I've never had a Mooney before, but it seems like there should be a good solution for this problem. I think I'll take your advice and put cam locks wherever possible. Thanks for the feed back guys.
  5. Is there a fast and easy way to open the engine cowling to do a thorough engine pre-flight inspection?
  6. What is the procedure for converting my 1965 M20C from a generator to an alternator.
  7. Excuse me, but I don't get it. Your first asking price was $200 plus shipping and then you said you lowered the price to $200. I guess that means that you lowered the price by the amount of the shipping costs. Anyway, it really doesn't matter. I would like to convert my newly acquired 1965 M20C from generator to alternator, but am uncertain as to what that entails. Do I need to change the voltage regulator also? Anything else? Can my mechnic just unbolt the existing generator and bolt on your alternator in its place? What about any wiring changes? Thanks, D
  8. Once agtain guys, thanks for sharing. Sounds like Don is the place to go.
  9. I have found one well known Mooney authorized service center near DFW, Texas that says they will fix one fuel tank that is weeping on my 1965 M20C for $560 and will take them 5 days to do it right. This sounds like a reasonable solution to me. Is there anything I'm missing--or not asking related to this leak?
  10. Thanks to everone for the help. Its exactly what I needed.
  11. Hi Robert 7467. Thanks. How do I PM on this site?
  12. Thanks for the suggestions guys, but I have looked extensively at www.mooney.com and find no service manuals anywhere. I also checked www.67m20e.com and only found a very abreviated form--definitely NOT a complete service manual. I have found the service manual at several pay sites which i can view, but which will not let me download without giving credit card password, etc. and/or cell phone number, etc. This is not an option for me. Anyone else help?
  13. I am buying a 1965 M20C and need a service manual. Does anyone have one in electronic format they would share. Thanks.
