A small plane crashed into a home in Palm Coast this afternoon, killing at least three people and setting the house on fire. The plane crashed into a house on Utica Path at about 2:22 p.m. — about a mile from Flagler County Airport.

 

Flaglerlive.com is reporting the owner of the home went to a neighbor's house after the crash and was unharmed.

It also posted a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration saying all three people on the plane were killed. An intial report from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office said five were on the plane. Other reports say four.

 

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office said initial reports indicate the pilot of the aircraft declared an emergency at about 2:10 p.m. after reporting the plane was severely shaking.The Daytona Beach News-Journal said the pilot was trying to land at Flagler County Airport before the crash.

 

It also said the FAA is reporting the plane was a Beech Bonaza (BE35) aircraft.

 

There was no word from the FAA about where the plane departed from.

 

First Coast news said an FAA official said the plane was heading to Knoxville, Tenn.
