BlueWeasel Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 After looking at (the specs at least) many different planes, the Mooney seems to be a balance of what I desire for my the needs of my family. Now I realize this isn't a surprise to anyone here....but anyway.. Before buying (I hope to do that in 2013) I would love to go up in a Mooney to see how they feel. Ideally in a M20J (as this has been the model I have extensively researched and a M20K 252. The K may slightly fall outside my price range but the performance increase over the J is enough to not dismiss. I, of course, am willing to cover the associated costs with a joyride. If anyone is interested, please reply or PM me. Quote
mooneygirl Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 I don't know what you are doing next weekend [september 14th-16th], but there will be a whole lotta Mooneys at the MAPA [Mooney Aircraft Pilots Association] annual homecoming convention. We are meeting at Fredricksburg, TX just a hop away from the Mooney factory. For more information: http://www.MooneyPilots.com We will be there in our Ovation. Quote
4044N Posted September 7, 2012 Report Posted September 7, 2012 I live in Houston...but mine is an F with most of the J mods. If you want to go up, I'm usually looking for an excuse to fly. 1 Quote

healthfx Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 I chose my Mooney for the safety and economy it offers for flying the family. We travel in the C model. Love it! 150 hours last years. Get the free report at www.mooneyland.com to learn about finding a good bird! Quote
BlueWeasel Posted September 9, 2012 Author Report Posted September 9, 2012 Healtfx, I think that is what I read a few weeks ago that pushed me away from some of the other makes I'd been looking at. Jetdriven, can't PM you to further coordinate, but sounds good. Got next Sunday available but after that it will be a few weeks. Whatever works for your schedule. Quote
4044N Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Todd, can't remember what you said your availability was...but I'll probably be at Hooks on Saturday if you want to check out the Mooney. Quote
BlueWeasel Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 Camping with the scouts this weekend, in theory would be available around 2pm Sunday. The following weekend is when I expected to have more time, but I may have to make an unplanned trip to Baton Rouge to check on Mom... Will let ya know. Quote
BlueWeasel Posted September 25, 2012 Author Report Posted September 25, 2012 Sunday? Sometime around/after 2pm? Quote
