mooneyflyer Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 My right wing fuel gauge is inop. It shows 10-13 gals when full. Is there something I can check? And if I need to replace, where could I source a replacement? Thanks in advance
IvanP Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 Could be stuck float or the magnetic gauge. It is my understanding that the dials are pure unobtainium at present. I need one as well. Lasar has a waiting list with unknown ETA for replacement dials.
dkkim73 Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 You can find mechanically-equivalent gauge capsules (they are sealed and couple magnetically) at various places, with different scale markings. So you can do what I have done and make a little overlay scale, or just use the needle position and ignore the scale (as others have done).
mike_elliott Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 If it’s the ships gauge, the outboard sender is probably inop Phil. Suggest checking ground first. If it’s the wing sight gauge, scrounge a replacement. Dr Kim is correct, they are available with inaccurate scale markings 1
