bigmo Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Have my pre-J choice narrowed to a couple (really one) - working with Jimmy now. One item I want to do is a freshening up of the interior. Been reading older threads on some DIY (owner, upholstery, AP) jobs and have the process down I think. Evaluating ordering the cover material from an approved provider, or using a local upholstery shop and getting certs from Skandia. What I cannot find is the amount of material I need for seats, the baggage rear, and a couple of side covers. Has anyone been down this path and knows the amount of material you ordered? Any tips along the way appreciated as well. For cushion foam, I'll just go with Jim & Janice at Hi-tech. I expect it'll be cheaper to source plain leather and let Skandia provide their cert. Thanks! KSMooniac Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 3-4 hides is typical, I believe, for 4 Mooney seats including head rests and arm rests. Do you also plan to cover the side panels? I would just paint those... Avoid the weight and cost of leather on non-seating areas. Just my opinion... Or consider ultra leather for lighter weight. I have some nice tan/neutral leather hides from a local bizjet shop that I bought years ago but went a different direction. I will sell them for a bargain and can send a sample.
