sdflysurf
What should I look at if I had high oil temp on a trip but the oil pressure was in the green and the cylinder head temp was in the green and the fuel flow was in the green? I was flying in high temps (90+) so I figured that was it.... I made my climb a bit shallower to stay under the red, but then at cruise everything was still in the green but a bit high. carusoam
All things related to airflow and oilflow through the oilcooler... When the oil temp gets warm... it could be related to... 1) OAT as well... 2) cleanliness of the cooler fins... 3) cleanliness of the oil lines inside the cooler... 4) vernatherm operations... 5) anything blocking air through the oil cooler 6) check the back side of the oil cooler for blocking there as well... 7) check for seals that would allow air to escape around the oil cooler instead of going through it... 8) check the attitude/airspeed when this happened... anything that slows or changes the angle of the air approaching the cooler won’t be helpful... 9) got any JPI data with similar OAT from last year? Just a few things that come to a PP’s mind.... not a mechanic. Best regards, -a-
