Melisma Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Hi everybody, The low fuel warning lights on the annunciator panel of my M20J stay on all the time. (left and right) No matter how much fuel is in the tanks. The rest of the warning lights on the annunciator panel are working fine. i tried to calibrate by turning the potentiometers behind the cover. Not working... Also the test button doesn't light up the warning lights of the annunciator panel. Panel u/s or sensors in the fuel tanks? Anybody else with this problem? Thanks for some advice. Quote
carusoam Posted May 17, 2015 Report Posted May 17, 2015 Welcome aboard Melisma. There is a recent thread of somebody else describing a similar issue, I believe... You can use the search function at the top right. Click the forums button to search the whole site... Best regards, -a- Quote
dtoelke Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 Yes but it was a different issue. I just checked the service manual ('79 K but should be the same annunciator panel) and the problem you are having does not seem to be documented. It's probably one or more bad electrical components in on the board. You could send it in to IAI and they will replace everything for something like $600, or if you know somebody who is good with electronics they could probably troubleshoot the board (it's not that big) and find the bad component(s). grami-air Posted May 18, 2015 Report Posted May 18, 2015 For what it's worth, if you have the same annunciator panel as in my '79K, I had a flashing low voltage light (bus voltage read 13.8-14.2 volts) and just decided to send the annunciator panel to International Avionics Inc, down in Addison TX. They completely refurbished the unit, replacing a transistor, several diodes, several resistors and a switch. I guess after 36 years, even electronic components will age and eventually fail. Total bill was $475 including tax and they provided excellent turnaround. Seeing you are in Europe, not sure what shipping will cost. The good news is I now have a perfectly good unit whose indications I know I can trust. Quote
