Hi MSers....looking for a mechanic experienced in replacing short body windshields in CA, NV or AZ. Have already contacted Lasar. Thanks for any advice....

Has any Ovation, Eagle, Acclaim, or Bravo owner replaced their forward windscreen, and if so, who did you use? Would you recommend anyone different if you had to do it again? I have a small vertical crack nearly an inch long, slightly left of CL, starting at the top edge where the windscreen meets the aircraft skin. As the crack has gradually grown over the last 6 months, I'm starting to line up prospective sources in case it doesn't pass annual this year. Spoke with my IA today, and although he can do the work, he admits it isn't his strongest area and would feel comfortable if someone else with this expertise engage. Grateful for any thoughts, as I've heard horror stories and am dreading the thought of having to eventually do this. Thanks all... Steve

I have a SWTA "201" windshield available in good condition. I initially purchased the windshield hoping to install it in my C model, but was unable to do so since I did not have the STC. I believe this would be a good backup or replacement windshield for anyone that currently has the SWTA STC installed. Additionally, I have the retaining strap that mounts on the front if you happen to need that. I'll grab some pictures when I go to the hangar this weekend. Make me an offer. Thanks!

Hi, How much time (hours) should one expect a qualified Mooney mechanic to take to change the windshield on a M20F Exec? I am talking about the original windshield (not a J mod). Just a replacement because the screen is starting to get below spec. Regards Tony

So the time is approaching to completely refit our M20J's exterior and do a full repaint. As we have posted on here, the first trip we took with it resulted in hail damage on the elevators and ailerons. Plus the paint is a few years old and needs refreshing. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to put a bunch of LASAR drag mods on the machine, stick in a new windshield, and lay on a fresh coat of paint. I am soliciting ideas and experiences that have dealt with the following LASAR mods: horizontal tail fairing, dorsal fin with seal, wheel well liners, cabin door pin kit, wing root fairing, and aileron gap seals. Also looking for advice on changing out the old windshield for a new one, ours has light crazing.
