Hello everyone. We are going to try something a little out of the box here. We are going to try and crowdsource fund our effort to terminate the hose AD 81-19-04. Check out the draft version and let us know what you think. For now, I am just trying to get a feel for the level of interest in this type of approach. The oil and fuel lines in my 1999 Mooney Eagle need replacement according my mechanic and Continental Tech Support. I have the rec "C" lines which are rated for 7 years. He is recommending to go to rev "D" which is teflon and is rated for 12+ years. Anyone has done this on io550? if yes, any recommendation on where to get the hoses made for the best quality and price? Driver

On my 68C, between the landing light and oil cooler intake, there is small (about 1") round intake hole that has an orange duct connected to it on the inside of the engine compartment. This hose is not connected to anything. I asked a buddy of mine who also owns a Mooney and he says that his aircraft also has the disconnected hose. Does anyone know if this hose is supposed to be connected to something or is this just for getting air into the lower back portion of the engine compartment?
