  1. Thanks. If his price improves ill give it a try.
  2. Looks to be the post light.... Never thought to turn on the panel lights when I put the volt meter on it. Awesome help guys!!
  3. The inside of the yoke is empty except for the wires. No bulb etc. I thought it might be for a clock or something but I have no idea if that was on the mooney's. Thanks
  4. 1967 m20F I took off a silly battery powered cooking clock that the previous owner had on the yoke and found behind it the yoke open and inside were two wires (not the two tubes leading to the positive control button). Both wires had the ends taped over but I was wondering what they are for. What is supposed to be on the front of the yoke and can those be used to power something else? I was wondering what kind of load it can handle and what fuse it would be on. Thanks, Shawn
  5. Where do you have to open up to see the boot etc? It there an access panel? I am going out to the plane tomorrow and will bring tools to look at it if I know what I will need to bring. Thanks!
  6. Do you think it should have went up in this situation.... I started up, taxi'd to ramp. Did run up. Taxi'd to fuel. Shut down. Fueled up. Then had friend watch it while I started up. Stayed down. Rev'd to 1800-ish and still stayed down. taxi'd back to parking spot and did shutdown. Got out and manually moved the step to make sure it wasn't frozen, and it seemed to move ok. Thanks for the help!
  7. At least that would explain why mine appeared so non-linear... I either need to add 4 gal and mark and repeat repeat repeat or I'll have to find someone who already did it for the F with the bladders. My top to bottom only measured approx 7 3/4" to the top of the fuel it could hold but I thought the wing depths where all the same so I don't know whats up there.
  8. This is going to sound silly but I'm trying to make a dipstick for the tanks but the measurements aren't showing up as being linear. Does that make sense? I thought it would be something like 4 gallons per inch but it doesn't seem to be that consistent. Are the tanks not regular shaped? For instance, is the bottom wider than the top so that 2" of fuel at the bottom is = 15 gal but 2" of fuel at the top of the tank is only 5 gal? I should mention that I have the O&O bladders and the 32 gal tanks (64 gal total). I did the search first but none of the threads seemed to have measurements that work for mine for some reason. If anyone has an example of what the measurements should be, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks Shawn
  9. crap... that means mine isn't working. Are they repairable?
  10. I'm in a similar situation... My 67 F has a step that I cant confirm is going up. I had a recent annual and they said they replaced the "cable for the step". I didn't think anything of it but today after getting fuel I asked a friend to watch the step after I started up. He showed thumbs down for step still down, then I tried with RPM up at 1800-2000 and still he showed thumbs down. I couldn't go any higher because the brakes couldn't hold the plane due to ice on the ramp but I thought it didn't need more rpm than that. Am I correct in assuming that you don't need to have the gear up for the step to auto retract? I need to understand the mechanism so I can test it properly. Mine is a '67 20F. Thanks, Shawn
  11. Does anyone from Canada other than the Lower Ontario region have one of the phillip ones? I heard they work up here but I am cautious because I've been burned before on the "oh ya it'll work fine for you" line. Anyone know what he is charging for his now? Thanks
  12. Hey Scoops, I would like to retract any recommendation for Maple Leaf in Brandon. I would NOT go back personally. There are lots in St. Andrews though.
  13. Hi Scopes, I had mine done by Maple Leaf Aviation in Brandon because that is where I had the import inspection done ask for Dave if you go there. There are a few places that do annuals in St. Andrews though and that would be a shorter hop for you. If you want me to shoot you some names and numbers just let me know. We should put together a fly-in someplace and do lunch. On the Remote... I'm still looking for a lower priced option if anyone comes across one
  14. Thanks. I think his were higher priced but ill look into them again. Thanks
  15. I just got my M20F back to Canada and got it out of its Annual inspect.... So now it's time to fly. To do that I need to get one of the many cell triggered switches available to operate my Tanis preheater. I was told that there are some selling for $150 but I haven't found any such beasts. If anyone knows where the best deal is, let me know. Thanks!
  16. I guess if Jepp is the only show in town, I might as well do the subscription instead of the one time buy. Bummer that there isn't a competitor. Thanks! Shawn
  17. Do you know if there is anyone other than Jepp that provides nav database for the 300xl?
  18. Fabulous!! That is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
