    Hello,

    I saw that you got your Brittain Accu-Trak installed @ Caruthersville Avionics. We used to live there and I got my PPL while they were located @ Dyersburg. Duane Patterson was my instructor @ DYR. Is the Accu-Track the only upgrade you did to your PC system. If so, how do you actually use it; is it coupled to a gps/vor etc. I've been speaking with Cecilia @ Brittian and she has suggested adding the Accu-Trak and Accu-Flite to my PC. I have come up with the BI-805 valve and the B-11 controller. Both look like they need to be sent in for overhaul/testing etc. I have the Apollo GX-55 GPS and Nav's with Glideslope and ILS. I'm considering speaking with the Caruthersville Avionics folks to see if they would want to do the install since Brittain is so backed up. I have been on Brittain's list for a good long time. They say I'm at the top of the list now but they can't get mine done until the end of the summer. Thanks for any info you can provide. Tom

      Tom,

      The last time I saw Duane was a few years ago down at the Halls airshow. Good to hear he is still doing some instruction. I was thinking of sending the B-11 control head and the BI-805 valve to Brittain for a checkup. Sounds like you have a nice upgrade in mind. I have some experience with the S-TEC  55X while flying a Cirrus SR22. It is a very nice unit. I wasn't able to run it through its paces but flew one practice approach with it and a bunch of point A to point B. I'd be interested in the JPI 830 when you upgrade to the 900.

      Sounds good. Duane is just keeping his feet wet. I think his primary teaching days are getting finished. I'm not sure if I'll have him do my IFR or another instructor.

      I do plane to sell the 830 so I let you know when they get it out..Order time is about 6 weeks on new STEC stuff, so it will be a few months. I'll keep you posted.
