  2. Yes I would buy it as soon asit is available.
  3. Hi, Nice airplane. You say that this Mooney have Amsafe seatbelts. I thought that Amsafe was not certified for 201!. Also, I don't see them in the pictures. Have they been installed after the picture was taken? Also how long have you own the aiplane and are you the owner that install all this new stuff?
  4. Anyone is using this website for weather and weather workshops? How do you like it?
  5. Anyone have any ideas if we will be allowed to installed uncertified PFD MFD like G3X touch in GA airplanes anytime soon? It seem faa is rewriting part 23
  6. I need to use the services of an Escrow to purchase a 200 000$ airplane. Anyone knows one of them and what is the price approximatly? Also AOPA is suggesting "Aero-Space Report". Anyone knows these guys? Thank you
  7. I fill like replacing a Garmin 530 non waas for a Garmin 750. For those who have changed their 430/530 for a Garmin 650/750: Are you satisfied? What advantage gives you the most value? For IFR flight, what are the big +? Thank You
  8. Is the any ways to get altitude pre select if I have an S-Tec 50 autopilot. What would be the price approximatly. Thank You
  9. I had a 201, 1977 and IAS at 3000 was in the range of 145 and 148. TAS was allway over 155.
  10. You comment make me think that last summer I purchased "Xavion" which give you an easy-to-fly course in case of engine falure. Since a purchase this application I fly the pattern a lot smaller and I am in final a lot higher since I realised that I would never make the runway in case of an engine failure... Xavion worth every penny...
  11. Chese, you know your web site. It the one I was looking for. Thank you
  12. Hello, A few month ago a member posted pictures of a beautifull 201. I am trying to those pictures back. When in "Gallery" is there a way to see pages of all the pictures in the site? By the way, if someone have any ideas: The 201 was green with gold stripe and beige interior. Everything was knew; paint, dash, interior, Lopresti cowl, garmin 500, etc, etc, etc. It was year btw 1980 and 1983. Thank You
  13. Sorry if itis a problem for you to understand my poor english. My first language is french.
  14. I read the following somewhere: "Speed brakes are not the most desirable system on an aircraft. The use of speedbrakes in a large aircraft is primarily used to increase descent rate, something that if done in a Mooney, will pop your eardrums out. If they are deployed to slow down, it is probably due to an inefficient descent and approach. With a properly planned descent profile and deceleration management, by the use of establishing target gates, speedbrakes would not be required. Speedbrakes aren't even supposed to be used in icing conditions. Some Mooney pilots equipped with TKS have deployed the speedbrakes to rapidly descend thru the icing layer, then have gotten a huge surprise when they would no longer retract. The Mooney speedbrakes have been plagued with problems. The earlier systems were the worst as they worked on vacuum pressure but they were easy to rig and maintain. Later Mooneys changed to electric clutches. Fewer problems, more difficult to rig the cables and very expensive clutches. Another problem is that it doesn't even have an automatic stow system when the power lever is slammed forward as in the case of a go-around. So when would you really really need speedbrakes... when ATC tells you to keep the speed up on approach, until a point when you have to slow down with little nautical real estate to get the aircraft into approach config.....and that would happen when one is flying an approach at some airport catering to large aircraft....but then, advancing the prop lever to flatten the pitch will have a greater effect than the speedbrakes. This system should not be factored in to the selection of an aircraft." I would like to get your thoughs. Thank You.
  15. I read the following somewhere written but an avionic shop owner: "In my humble opinion, the KFC-150 is a piece of junk. This system is full of monitors but the problem is that the monitor system often fail. It's prone to problems. The KFC-150 is a safe autopilot it just fails often and is expensive to keep up and running. The king KFC-200 and KAP-200 are older system but much more reliable autopilot." Anyone have any comments about that since a lot of Mooney are equiped with KFC-150?
  16. I am in a process to buy a Mooney. I have been flying a friend's 201 for 250 hours. I did my IFR and flew approx. 125 IFR hours but mostly in VFR or marginal VFR condition. Now is the time to buy! I don't really have a mission but I don't want to get bored with a plane that is too limited and especially since buying and selling aircrafts is tougher these days. My interest was toward a "Encore" because you get a turbo with a cheap fuel burn plus the possibility to have it FIKI. I live in Canada so if I need to do any cross country I might need to fly high and this mean often ice possibilities. Since my IFR experience is very limited, I don't really know if I will need to fly that high! Am I better to go with an Ovation? Or should I stick with a 201? The 201 would be cheaper tu buy and run but more limited. The budget is always a problem an buying for less is allways fun. But let say that up to 200k it will be a hole in my retirement plan but nevertheless allright. I know that it is a large question but any comments would be very appreciated. Thank You
  17. I have a 1977 Mooney equiped with a Pathfinder autopilot upgraded with SAM. It's a wings leveller with GPSS stering. No GS, no altitude hold... First, the SAM is laging when a turn is more than 45 degree like a procedure turn. If anyone has that system, do you have the same problem? If I want a fully integrated autopilot, what would be the model I should look at and what is the approx. price? Thank you
  18. Anyone can tell me how fast ADSB-IN is updating compare to wx?
  19. I don't understand how someone can live without it unless flying around home all the time. It cost a lot less and it is so easy for planification before take off. I am saving a lot compare to paper days. Some of my friends are using fltplan but it find it not as easy to work with. I use fltplan only for weather and ifr filing. The volume must be a big part of the reason for the price difference.
  20. Does anyone knows if there is any ways to get altitude hold with a "Pathfinder P2A" autopilot. Also, an idea of how much it would cost to upgrade the Pathfinder Autopilot to a more modern autopilot? Thank You.
  21. Everything on this airplane is nicest then knew. I applaud all the thinking and workmenship behind this buty... "Félicitations"
  22. The plane has live most of his life in Miami !!! In Florida Coastal city East side If a good inspection reavealed no corrosion, can I trust that?
  23. There is an Ovation 2 year 2000 for sale at Controller. It does not have tks neither deice on prop. Anyone know the the cost approx. of having tks, prop and every thing else to turn that airplane into a FIKI. Thank You
  24. Would you say a 1997 Mooney that has spend all his life (15 years+) in Florida, big chances that there is corrosion? Thank You
  25. Anyone can tell me what is the fuel consomption of a 1990 Bravo low and high altitude.
