I called my insurance brooker today an got a quote of 3000$ can for a Ovation of 200000$ us. They refuse to quote at first an SR22 of the same price because of the chute. I have 1100 hres with 300 in a 201 and 200 IFR.

I also would prefer a Garmin 500 with a 750 and 650 than those unreliable Avidyne or G1000 incorporating everything in a one bloc. I also like the retractable gear for no other reasons than pure speed looking... But the shute is something that comes back to my mind now and then espacially when fling at night,,, even though it is pure markething...

Your right. I'd like to go from Fort Lauderdate to Portorico non stop with plenty of reserve.... and I hate spending on fuel even if some say 80 hours/year does not make a big difference....

Looking for a 2000/2003 Ovation or a 2005 SR22 with are pretty much the same price; around 215 000$ to 225 000$ asking price.

I have 300 hours on a 201 thal I sold. Need something else. Mooney Ovation or Cirrus SR22. My hart is bouncing, my wife is with Cirrus. Reasons shute and resale value. Really confused... Can anyone convince me? I would really appreciate your help. Thank You

Some of you have G1000 wih GFC700 upgraded to WAAS. Do anyone know the cost of upgrading to WAAS with this equipment? How about upgrading to ADSB-OUT with G1000 and GFC700. Is the any problem in this case? Thank You

So, to get waas with a G1000 that is link to a GFC700 would cost a lot less?

This mean that WAAS capability is more related to the AP than the G1000?

Anyone can tell me what G1000 set up is upgradable at a reasonable price an what set up is not for now. Does the GFC700 compare to the STEC55 makes a difference? Thank You.

I am movin up. Lately I have been flying 2005/2006 Cirrus SR22 and I like them but my hart is still with Mooney. So I started to look for Ovation. I am very confused. Upgrading G1000 seemed ridiculous. It looks like I should stay away from a G1000. Should I look for a 2000 Ovation with traditional instrument and GNC 430/530 easily upgradeble or a 2005/2006 with G1000 that seemed more or less upgradable for now. Thank You

I love this site. I don't know if there is any other site that would give my as much of this rich experience to take as good a decision. I have 300 hours of experience on a 201 out of a 3900 runways and I never use more than half of the runway which is still 1950 feet. I realise that I am a sloppy pilot! I will buy that video. And it does happen rarely, for whatever reason, that I have been flotting and end up using more feet! Lately, with the influence of others, I have been attracted to Cirrus. I keep coming back to the controler web site - Mooney section - because, deeply in my hart, I stick to Mooney. This rich site is one of the reason. Thank you all.

I am interested by a Ovation 3. The airport I would park the airplane has a 2500 feet runways. Could those that own an Ovation are confortable landing an taking off on a 2500 feet runways? 'Thank You

What do you thing of Thermawing de-ice system. Goods: Light, cheap purchase price and installation compare to TKS, no need to buy liquid. What are the bad side? No STC for Mooney. What else.
