  1. Sounds good, Thank you!
  2. Good question, I’m converting from the D2000 mag to two slick mags, do I need to do this? Here is the service instruction that was applied years ago, so I’ve been advised to unapply it for the dual mags.
  3. Offhand do you know the part number and washers for the circuit breaker panel too?
  4. Clarence, Thank You! That sounds like a much better part! I’m trying to re add the link that grounds the right magneto in prep for the A3B6 conversion and realized whoever did the mod in the 1980s took the link out and the screw...
  5. It does seem like a hokey screw, kind of a common terminal screw like a landing light screw
  6. Anyone know what the part number for the terminal screws are? I need to add the right magneto grounding link since I’m ditching the a3b6d for the a3b6
  7. I would have to have new harnesses right? Also I would have to get JPI to send me an adapter harness for rpm I think.
  8. That’s interesting about the oil cooler rotation. Dan said don’t install fiftings on the oil cooler till installed. I’ll keep an eye out for the prop governor. Dan said the old fittings work fine and there is no need for these but I’m curious to whether the modworks mount is different than the Mooney mount afterwards.
  9. My oil cooler was corroded so I bought a new one from Pacific oil cooler service in CA. Unfortunately I’m stuck with 20 degree timing on slicks until I get the Electroair or lycoming or surefly ignition upgrade in a few years
  10. Dan at LASAR said the same thing. I can scavenge from my old engine. It’s probably a part I could produce as an owner produced part in my machine shop. It’s basically a clamp that holds the cable in place right?
  11. At the end my plane went from 19.1 to 16.7 GPH with a static rpm of 2575 when it was pulled due to an oil leak from the case (and increased ferrous material in the filter)
  12. A fully featured engine monitor is probably the most important instrument outside of an AI and DG
  13. 16gph? Seems kind of low from sea level, I used to get 16.9 with a bad Cam and my friend’s Mooney gets 19, as did my plane long ago
  14. So this part is a bit confusing. Going through the forum about the IO360 conversion experience I saw reference to part number 660017-003 and 670017-005 for cable clamp halves. Are these the same as the A3B6D? Dan at LASAR did not tell me about these. Also I used the “modworks” bracket 660117-000, is that different than the official Mooney bracket and therefore compatible with the original clamps?
  15. I couldn’t bear seeing ugly, corroded looking baffling with tons of RTV being put on a “new” engine. While most parts were airworthy there were some chafed parts directing airflow into the fins of the lower parts of the cylinders
  16. I ended up buying new baffling from Airforms up in Big Lakes Alaska. Also got a new oil cooler from Pacific Oil Coolers
  17. Yeah I saw the thread about this issue and saw the note about bending the line but Dan from LASAR talked me out of this and so I ordered 75730. Good thing because I want to protect my freshly painted mount and don’t want the engine dinging into the mount. One thing I will do is buy a bunch of Adel clamps to avoid zip ties when possible, especially on the mount.
  18. Wow, new prop too then? I would have done the 390 if I needed a prop...
  19. Thanks for that info... unfortunately I already spent the $450 for the part, and it was the first part to arrive on my new engine:) I’ll have another line to sell I guess...
  20. Thanks Skip! I’ll check the logs and switch to see if the jumper was removed! That helps clarify things greatly...
  21. I’ve been thinking about this one as I saw it in that lengthy report. I do have the ignition switch pulled out now as the instruments on the left side of the panel were taken out when I added the EDM-900. Do you have more info about this? Is this just a 16-18AWG jumper with two PIDG lugs on it? I’ll have to check the schematic of my serial number and compare it to newer versions in terms of the ignition switch.
  22. LASAR sent my prop governor out for overhaul and changed the drive pad ratio in the process in addition to mounting a new governor bracket. Dan basically instructed the shop to convert the governor over with new settings. The paperwork says reconfigured to T24. As for static RPM, I thought the service manual said 2700 RPM is the desired setting but 2650 is allowable?
  23. I'd say skip that shop, sounds like they want $$. Shouldn't be more than a usual timing bump. Unless it's been bumped a bunch and needs an inspection.
