I am getting familiar with my M20J (owned since Jan this year) - in the POH it stats that with the flaps down - the negative load limit on the aircraft is 0 G !! is that really true? does that mean that with the flaps down - every time i hit negative G in a bump I am stressing the airframe beyond its limits. also what do you guys do when you are descending at say 140 - 160 KIAS and you hit moderate turb? Do you go to below Va or do you just take the autopilot off-line and relax pressures on the control yoke to not overstress the control surfaces or the aircraft in bumps? thanks, Bodi

  3. does the JPI show the correct temp even before startup. I live in Massachusetts and during winter I would like to know whether my preheater has actually worked. I am thinking it may not show temperature if its below a certain low value - say 100F ? Thanks, Bodi

  5. I have been trying to get a T-hangar at any airport in the eastern or metro-west area of Massachusetts. I have had no luck so far, although I put my name on all waitlists possible (except for paying 500$ a month at Bedford/Hanscom field). Anyone know of any hangar openings anywhere in MA (ideally within 1 hour driving distance of framingham) - can you PM or reply on this thread? I would be open to group hangars also, if its not congested (maybe thats not possible) and the hangar has powered doors or manual doors that open easily. I am in a shared hangar now with doors that make opening them the hardest part of the flight. Thanks

  7. thanks for your responses. I mean the electric panel gauge in the cockpit shows a full indication always. Some day randomly it will start working and it will show a correct indication - otherwise it always stays full
  8. Hi all - recently bought a 1987 M20J-LM (Lean machine) - have been very pleased with it so far. Put it in a Reiff Pre-Heater system for the north east winters. Some issues I have had that I need some advice on are: the wing walk seems to be some tape like substance that is glued onto the wing - and part of its coming off. Is it better to paint on a wing walk or replace with more adhesive stuff? Can I do the removal of tape and painting of the new wing walk myself (legally)? If so what glue remover should I use - anybody has done it? My fuel gauge shows full although I know it should not be - has anyone seen that issue ? Thanks
